I think Rob Morrow was at the height of his fame in Northern Exposure as was Marisa Tomei, they both were incredible in this, as was the actress who was the other love interest. This movie brings back memories of a love i had years ago with a man i dated only for a short time. He was one of the kindest, most loving man i ever knew. It only lasted three weeks. But, it was the best three weeks of my life. I truly wish it could have lasted a lifetime. Obviously, it was not meant to be. Love like that doesn't always come to ones's heart in such a significant way. I was loved in the most amazing way that i can not express into words. Circumstances prevented us from going further on both of our parts. However, not a day goes by that i don't remember him fondly. If i were to see him again, i think i would love him still today. Has anyone ever had a love like that? Not an infatuation, but a sneak peek into what a caring person can do to your heart. I really liked him and he slipped out of my fingers too quickly. This story is heartwrenching to watch his former love die in front of him. And to recall the love they had for one another that never totally left both of their hearts. So sad that he couldn't save her as she did for him many years before. What a lovely movie. 💔😥

Oh so she dies thanks. I wanted to enjoy this movie but it's just not that good. I did once love a girl who looked just like Marissa Tomei that's why I tried to watch this. Her name was Mandy, but I thought I could be a rock star and she wanted to have children before she was 30. I couldn't do that because I wouldn't be there for them. If you've ever heard the Barry Manilow song Mandy well that sums it up. It's hard to listen to that song it seems like it was written about us

I've waited for years to have a committed faith based relationship that would last a lifetime. Hope it's not too late to fall in love. I wish for you to find that kind of love too. We all search for our soulmate and it doesn’t always happen early in one's life. I loved this movie because of Marisa Tomei and the rest of the cast. She's actually attractive and she's a singer i've been looking for a singer for my whole life, being a guitarist. She's coming over tomorrow, who knows, maybe at 62 I will actually find somebody? I guess we'll see, it won't take long to figure it out. I think these things you just know, or there's a comfortability. Having someone cherish you simply because of who you are is the best gift besides the love of Jesus Christ. If i had to choose between the two, i would choose God. Without Him, i could do nothing. I'm only hoping that i will get to have a committed, God ordained relationship before i am taken up to meet Him in heaven. People come in and out of our lives to teach and encourage us on our walk here on Earth. It's kind of like a university setting with continuous knowledge being fed to our souls. Life was never supposed to be easy. It's when we are at our lowest state of being, that the Lord comes into our hearts and heals the wounds that are unbearable. @@morbenezra274 I wouldn’t call what his wife was feeling as jealousy but insecurity. She had been so close to him all throughout their adult lives, came to fall in love with him passionately. If anyone understood what Sylvia had meant to him, and how long it had taken him to let go of the pain, it was his wife. He was still so affected by his loss of Sylvia, he was incapable of playing the piano, a true passion of his. Having had a failed marriage, she knew what was at risk: her best friend, her husband, her lover. I can sympathize with her situation completely. I don’t think there are many of us so secure in our relationships as to not feel treated by a similar situation. It would be completely different if she had never known about Sylvia or seen the daily reminder of his inability to play the piano. I am so glad to see her understanding, compassion and acceptance of him at the end. If anyone was a hero or heroine in this movie, it was Evie. She had restored a broken man to love and passion and when faced with his past heart’s desire, he remained true to her. She definitely deserved him. 😊

Good movie. I never saw the chemistry between Matthew and Evie although the 2 daughters completed the family unit very nicely. Silvia was part of his soul and for me the saddest part was when he throws the ring into the river. I understand the meaning behind it for the preservation of his marriage but it was never convincing for me personally. Good acting by all involved.
