Actually, thank you. Thank you for being a KZbinr that gives a genuinely honest account. Of course you’ve been given free stock, and the chances of you being given free stock in the future are now smaller, but at least we now know the real world performance of this kit.

I would have liked to see a comparison of the readings between this unit and another "known to be accurate" meter.

I have this same device. I purchased after watching a bourbon moth video where he compared it to a much more expensive pinless meter and the readings were similar. I have observed all the same issues as you did in this video. For the low price, I feel it is good enough.

But clearly, the results cannot be considered similar when measuring through and across the grain. Those readings were 1,000,000 miles apart. I understand you’re suggesting comparisons versus a pin reader, but the pin reader should be measuring the moisture in the middle of the wood - and this just creates a whole load of further questions.

@@Macron87 all that matters is a consistent method. I test wood that's been in my shop for a while that I know is dry and compare the reading to new wood using the same testing method. That good enough for me

It’s quite amazing what some of these sponsors think they’re getting out of their videos. To give that as a response, and expect the result you wanted, is ridiculous.

Think it was a very fair review, in my opinion i feel it fails at its job, i agree with a comment below a comparison with the pin meter would be a nice watch. maybe a v2 could be less of a magnetic field but for me id say that machine fails massively and would be in my eyes totally unreliable as you couldn't believe the readings

A hand held device you can't hold in your hand to use. That the manual recommends too thin a sample for it to give a correct number, apparently. My impression is it is a complete failure, by design. Many will be fooled by it though having nothing to compare the results to.

I wouldn’t trust the reading. Not all woods would be thick enough to stand on their side and give you a more accurate reading. Your search continues for a better device.
