ARYA 8B I’m not sure what 2-3-2 means without context but phrases like 3-4 or 4-3 just refer to the # of Down lineman (defensive players with their hands in the ground) and the # of linebackers. Outside of playing it or like being around it you could learn by looking up like glossaries of football terms. The terms themselves (even the ones fans have no clue about) aren’t all that complicated, they mostly just refer to the positions, alignments, routes, etc. As for the formations all you mainly need to know is Singleback means the QB is right behind the center, I-Form is the same thing but there’s 2 guys behind the QB, Gun means the QB is a few steps back from the center, Bunch means three receivers stacked together, trips means three receivers to a side, Ace means 2 Tight ends on the field, empty means there’s no RB next to the QB, and pistol means the RB is behind the QB out of the gun. there’s a bunch of terms but hoped that helped

I played the whole season, went 15 - 1 and won the super bowl, then you advance through the offseason (there's no content there at all, you literally just click to advance the weeks but there are no options) then it took me back round to the preseason and started it all over again on the same team. Maybe it's making me serve out my rookie contract? Or maybe there's an option I haven't seen to demand a trade, who knows. I suppose I could sim ahead a few years but that would feel like cheating somehow

Anyway you could look at the Vikings defense and some of their ratings....I always play with my Vikings....Last few years I've been ranked in the top 2000......Over the past few seasons I've always use the line to get pressure on their qb.....BTW this is all for online play.....This year idk I cant stop drags and slants.....I've tried everything but I'm not one to blitz every down.....My offense is so so but I'm really upset with this years game......Now I usually dont make alot of Adjustments on defense but I'm open to making a few any suggestions or help please with that also if you can not too big of a deal I just want help with drags and slants but if you have the time can you give me something that will shut down that cowboys run game cause I played every time against them online they run with Zeke.......Any help will help thanks

I hope someone can hear me out about this. When it comes to empty formations on offense. If a RB is lined up on the outside let’s say. If the defense is playing man. The linebackers should be out wide to matchup with the RB not stay on the inside and have him on a receiver. Now if it’s a zone defense then yeah linebackers stay inside. This is frustrating because empty formations are made to tell what defense they are in. This creates mis matches and a chess match. This is why the patriots win matchup battles every single time they line up in empty. Empty formations would be king if madden can make the adjustment. You can’t even man align and have them man align according to position matchups. Smh this is also how you negate a pass rush. Empty formations is genius but it’s not even used right

It's easy to tell man vs zone by moving receivers around as well. Madden doesn't want to make it too easy for people, and it'd just be cheesed to death anyways so it'd be bad to have this in the game. you could hot route totally unbeatable routes out of empty and it wouldn't be fun

Bo J. I understand that but when you break out the huddle and a RB is out wide and defense is playing man the linebackers should automatically move out to guard him. That’s indicating man coverage. Now if the linebacker doesn’t go out to man up on the RB and he stays inside the box. That’s the indication for zone coverage. Empty formations don’t usually motion. It’s a fast pace no huddle scheme that can point out a coverage as soon as they line up.

Yes you do. You eventually unlock a wide range of special abilities as you advance and earn xp. I had them all unlocked by the end of the first season though

I have gotten superstar X factor abilities for my created players in my franchise mode. I can see them outside play my franchise game (like the franchise menu). but when I actually play the game, I can't see them at all; and they won't activate. It's possible and it depends what you're trying to defend against but I honestly think the safeties are better. You can bring them into the box quite often, keep an eye on your zone responsibilities but also freelance closer to the line of scrimmage and be in position to stop runs and short passes

You have to time the route of the receiver as soon as he gets that first step away from em launch it but watch the safety or lead away from him, sometimes using user on the receiver helps to while the ball is in the air deep use rac catch.
