The sign at the crossroads had a picture of Jaune and a cat paw, saying they were trying to decide who they thought was telling the truth and who to believe. That’s why they were a little sheepish when Jaune told them to make up their minds. When Ruby passes the waterfall her reflection is Summer. That little musical cue from the last scene of V8 when Weiss is looking at Atlas falling. Lewis seems to be a reference to the author of Alice in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll. “I couldn’t even be the make believe hero.” Yikes. Been waiting years for this moment. I’m still reeling and crying from the confession. I’m so giddy and happy and it’s crazy that we’re finally here. These two have been through so much and it’s just… this confession was so sweet and wonderful. “They found their happiness in Ever After.” How dare you put it so poetically. Man… I’m sorry I’m still just sitting here reeling from this. Also the song playing during the confession is called Worthy and Casey said it’s a BMBLB pt 2. The wins keep coming. Ruby not wanting to take Crescent Rose back is definitely a metaphor for Ruby denying herself. After Ruby said in V1 that weapons were an extension of them. There’s also a neat parallel with Yang when Tai presented her with her new prosthetic and Yang didn’t want/wasn’t ready for it at first.

At long last, a viewer with discernment, education, and the ability to reason! (I mean this all in a completely *non-sarcastic* manner. Though the irony and exasperation is real.) Kudos to all your statements. Well...except the Bees. Not that I'm Anti-Bee, mind you, but this should have happened _2 (or even 3!) Volumes back!_ RT's ability to pace this story is Shite; in combo with the short Eps.... If this show had traditional 30min Eps., so much would be explained/answered/developed by now (either that, or the events of Now would be happening in *Volume Six!* ).

Of course Ruby isn't paying attention. She's still dealing with the possibility that her own mom has been turned into a grim. Her hero, the person she looked up to, could potentially have been turned into a Grimm. Grimm, the creatures huntresses destroy daily. So not only did Ruby fail pretty much all her goals, she now also herself can be turned into a weapon for Salem. She probably sees herself as a liability for her own team due to her eyes. Never mind the idea that turning into a Grimm is horrific in itself. And that's on top of being a leader, and maintaining the morale of the group. Most of Ruby's good cards, things and relationships that she could have used as a positive anchor are gone: Penny (2x), the idea of Salem being defeated through mortal means, trust in Ozpin, her mom, her mortality (for a lack of better words), ect. Oh yeah, and the people she helped through the portal with her friends, and she has no idea if she put them into another potentially dangerous situation. So, no, she's probably seeing right through Blake and Yang.

A crazy theory but what if Lewis became the jabberwalker since it was searching for a way to fix itself and is all messed up in the head now he could have attacked team rwby as a messed up way to protect them from the tree he might have been so scary of losing himself he would've rather been dead and that became his role kill them to preserve their identity

Maybe, but it’s hard to verify that right now. Namely because the Jabberwalker was mentioned by name in the story (explained by Blake in chapter 2). It could be that Alyx wrote her brother under that alias as an enemy and Lewis “ascending” is what created the real Jabberwalker. Either way, there’s not enough info to be sure yet.

Feel bad for Jaune. I wonder if Louis is actually ‘Juniper’. If Jaune tells how he tamed the creature and he describes it as a ‘Juniper found me’ kind of thing, I’ll be even more sure. Ruby’s got huge internal conflict going on and her team is none the wiser; more emphasis on the burden she’s carrying. I feel like she’ll be tempted to stay in the Ever After to find a new purpose. Torchwick called her ‘Little Red’ so that might come into play here? Maybe not. The forge lady she saw before is probably going to appear to her again.

I think Louis is the actually the author of the “The Girl who fell through the World”…… I mean, Louis is clearly based on Lewis Carol, the author of Alice in Wonderland, my guess is that Louis got fed up with Alyx’s selfishness, like she was pretty bad-but childish in remnant, but when they came to the Ever After, she got worse, so my theory is that Louis sacrificed Alyx to the tree to make it home or ditched her in the Ever After by trapping her in the Tree because he couldn’t take her selfishness and cruelty anymore and wrote the story about her to make sure jaune and RWBY knew about it to keep the events of the timeline consistent……

I think I understand that crossroads and why the separation. Weiss and Ruby are dealing with depression in their way and Blake and Yang are dealing with emotional trauma that prevents them from saying what they want to say about each other or at least admitting, especially after everything that has happened to them prior to ever after

I think the one who got out was not Alyx, but Lewis. He wrote the story about his sister who was lost to the Ever After, and wrote her kinder and with a happy ending. Lewis Carroll did write Alice In Wonderland, after all. Meanwhile, Alyx got turned into the Jabberwalker, the only creature in Ever After who's able to kill its inhabitants, who does not play by the fairytale rules.

At 3:45 Jaune's "original sin" upon arriving in the Ever After, he plucked the fruit of the Tree of Time (very Biblical). At 5:02 Yeah, I had a hunch Weiss was going to react like that, even Yang was like "saaaaay". At 10:27, the icons on the signpost pointing in opposite directions... Follow Jaune or follow Curious Cat? Both Ruby and Weiss had their doubts. At 10:41 the very first reflection of Ruby in the water mirror is not Ruby. The hood is white, the back of the hair is different. Summer Rose? This is the second second time Summer has appeared as a reflection. At 10:49 Juane may have come to terms with it but it still hurts. At 10:55 Weiss mourns the loss of Atlas. At 11:44 proof that Neo is going to fit right into the Ever After. It implies she and Alyx are cut from the same cloth. I'm calling it now, Neo will probably be the one who remains in the Ever After after team RWBY and Jaune go back. At 16:54 Sorry Sun, looks like Blake is spoken for... At 17:57 As Jaune gets angry at the cat his refection de ages (his "past" innocence or naivete being triggered?). At 19:03 Jaune makes the ep's best quote; the voice of the fans! At 19:41 Ruby is not ready! She's not ready to carry that weight right now... At 20:20 Here's my theory, Louis was reborn as the Jabberwock. I think that not only is the arc going to be about Ruby finding her resolve to continue the fight, it think team RWBY may pick up some clues to defeat Salem. Summer Rose's reflection has appeared twice, is this an indication she was in the Ever After? Perhaps in connection with her final mission? If so, how does it relate to Jaune's time in the Ever After? Finally, if Summer Rose was in the Ever After, does that mean there may be another way in and out of there that is not through the Great Tree? A way that was known only to Ozpin? Curiouser and curiouser...

Cresent Rose didn't travel with Jaune, he waited for it. (The time fruit or whatever was only affected Jaune). I feel sorry for the Cat, they don't seem bad. Okay, this episode feels like not only a turning point in the Wonderland story, but also a HUGE callback to some things: This episode feels like a callback to the Mistral Arc (Volumes 4, 5 and 6) where the heroes learn the dark truth about the world, what they’re up against, and what they’re goal actually was. Jaune didn’t take the truth very well, so it kinda’ makes sense why he’s acting the way he did. The horrible truths he learned about in the Ever After really reminded him of how Ozpin lied to them about having a plan to save everyone, and how Pyrrha agreed to something big without even getting the WHOLE story. This REALLY reminds me of the Owl House, where Luz finds out the truth about Phillip Wittebane. Jaune and Luz realized that they were living history, only to learn that it wasn’t what they thought it to be. Luz was in complete distraught when she learned that she followed a false idol. I can’t imagine how Ruby felt when she learned that one of the heroes from the fairy tales was, in fact, a false protagonist in reality. Additionally, this would also explain why there was a burning book in the intro. It represents how the fairy tales everyone knows nowadays may turn out to be a lie, even the heroes may turn out to be a lie, the very ones Ruby was aspired to be when she became a huntress. With Blake and Yang, this was my legitimate reaction: HECK YEAH!!! 😆✌ At least that's one good thing with this episode.

I heard some interesting theories about Ruby in this last scene and I'm starting to think some of them night be true. I believe that even though she haves Crescent Rose back, she will probably avoid using it in future fights

I think they should have kept curious cat around. He made a valid point. Humans use others to meet their own personal agenda and at the expense of others; often hiding what they do or withholding information due to mistrust. That's Volume 8 in a nutshell and how they ended up falling through the world; even with the best intentions. He had already experienced that with Alex apparently. Of course he wanted to go to Remnant when she promised him. Maybe he changed for the worst after she betrayed him. He also protected Ruby from the Herbalist and helped them make the cocktail to grow again. If he hadn't intervened, Ruby may have fed the tree that moment because she "gave up the will to go on". Except fighting, everything is there: story, character developpementmysteries, humor, references and romance ^^ Truly, despite the lack of action and some complex dialogue or scenes, even more for me a not native english speaker, this volume really deliver !

To be fairly honest, given everything yang and Blake been through, their relationship is very similar to how Korra and asami ( the legend of Korra) got together. And although I really like Sun, he's pretty awesome, I felt like Sun getting together with Blake would look forced given how cliche the chemistry between them seem. Atleast for Blake and yang they went through a lot together and bonded overtime, so I felt this was a more deserving ship. With that being said, how they executed the official ship with yang and Blake in this particular predicament seemed rushed just to get it over with. I don't have any issue with it, I just felt like this didn't have to be crushed in with juane and his story with what happen, I was more interested in what happen to juane and the story with Alec. So just plopping the official ship like that out of nowhere just look like they are just trying to get this out of the way and move on. So I personally support yang and Blake being together, it's beautiful and wholesome, but how they implemented it could've been done better and later.

I was more focused on the Jaune stuff myself as well as that is where so many of our questions got answered. As for Yang and Blake I think the timing getting them together is fine, they have so much going on plot wise that something or someone would need to get them to stop and talk about it. The ponderstorm was a good moment to do it as it took away all distractions and excuses to switch topics, I think the development of the relationship will be on the back burner for now until they get out of the ever after.

It’s the fairytale method of confirming a relationship (that’s “at the most inconvenient moment for the goal the characters should actively be pursuing, but it will be a situation that seems engineered by the world itself to make that confession happen” whether it’s a storm, or running for their lives, or trying to save their homes, there will be a moment where the universe yells “now kiss her!” And the characters will oblige. It even happens in the story of beauty and the beast. Being stuck in the Ever After could probably be compared to being trapped in Beast’s castle if I reach far enough)

To be honest, I never agreed with bumbleby, and I never will, but I’m glad they’re happy in this alternate non-canon RWBY timeline that branched off of the original one from V1-V3 or part of V3.

The way I see it, there’s two ways this story actually ended. She was willing to poison Jaune, so it’s possible Alyx fed Lewis to the tree (whatever it takes) to escape because the herbalist stole her trust, then prettied up the story to make herself not seem like a villain protagonist. Alyx is fed to the tree, whether it’s a self sacrifice move or she touched the tree first in an attempt to leave and she was turned to food for the tree. This could make Lewis pretty up the story when he gets back to remnant out of survivor’s guilt. Either way, I’m willing to bet one of them became the monster, which would mean Neo’s semblance can create copies of other people instead of copies of anything, which is less broken of a semblance. Also, Ruby and Weiss were being forced to decide if they’d choose to believe Jaune or the cat. They took Jaune’s path, learned his story and the cat abandoned them at the end of it Also Also, Jaune experiencing isekai fanfic protagonist syndrome once the plot leaves the rails despite trying to keep it on track and they’re left wondering if they caused the story to change just by existing. In the present, Neo is taking Alyx’s role; she’s the one who doesn’t trust anyone else and is going to do whatever it takes to get what she wants

Damn I’m as t prepared for an emotional weekend. Happy for Yang and Blake. I feel for Jaune he’s went though a lot. To top it off final episode of Pokémon with Ash didn’t help closing the floodgates. Can’t wait for next week’s episode and hopefully see more with Neo.

Going back to episode 5 after I heard what Jaune said what Alyx probably did to her brother. I believe she killed him. I say this because in Ep5 where Ruby is in the blacksmith tent holding Penny's sword, Penny weapon change to a dagger that ended up having a reflection of angry Alyx. Me doing a little research on Google, it says that a dagger is a "short killing weapon designed to stab only." Also saying that It is "double edged, tapered to a sharp point, with a straight edge and usually a blood line groove to facilitate removal." That describes what Ruby was holding in EP 5.

I was kinda hoping Blake and Yang would talk about Blake leaving after Yang losing her arm. I wanted them to air out those grievances. But at the same time, both of their feelings about it have been explained or shown in the show before, so I understand why they didn't. Regardless, I like this scene far more than the Renora scene in Volume 8 Chapter 11. Or the Renora kiss in Volume 7 Chapter 6.
