I found out about kushikatsu 3 years ago and have been hooked ever since. My place in Tokyo is called Kushizaru in Ueno and I always go there several times when I'm on vacation.

I'd love to ask you a question Eric! I was wondering what's 3 or 4 places in Japan you'd suggest I'd visit if I were to come on a trip, as I've always wanted to go to Japan and plan to come one day! the head of cabbage is made for u to use as a bowl for the dipping sauce in case u want to double dip so this way you double dip into your own private sauce instead of the table's sauce

I bought kewpie Japanese mayo, it taste exactly like miracle whip. I was very disappointed. Not that I don’t like miracle whip but I thought Japanese mayo would be some hidden wonderful taste I have been missing.

I know this video is a year old but the cabbage they serve you is actually meant for their “house sauce” in the event you want to double dip or need extra sauce you can actually dip the cabbage into the sauce and use it as a spoon to get sauce onto what you are eating.
