I met Marianne when she and Mick Jagger visited Frank Zappa's log cabin in Laurel Canyon, Hollywood in 1968. They sat in the kitchen with Frank and his wife Gail. Mick and Marianne were like a double act - he spoke, she spoke, he spoke, she spoke. By contract, Gail never spoke when Frank entertained. She always sat mute, allowing Frank to hold centre stage. Such a contrast.

So why she pretends not talking in those days ????
@paulinebutcherbird
@paulinebutcherbird 2 жыл бұрын
@@Methilde She said she didn't talk when she was 17, 18, 19. When she and Mick Jagger came to the log cabin, it was 1968 and she would have been 22. She'd obviously grown in confidence being his girlfriend for so long.

A friends father was an oil executive stationed in London for a few years and had the flat right under Jagger in Harley House in Marylebone. When we were in the kitchen we would sometimes see Mick and Marianne sneaking up the fire escape to avoid fans and press.

I love how she speaks kindly of Mick Jagger who has a reputation as a womanizer. Marianne set the bar too high for all the others.

The interviewer sounds identical to Faithfull........hilarious.....she might do the part...... Courtney Love once had something , which very fast evaporated into the typical American parody. That she even was considered was bad news .

Was the movie about her ever made? Courtenay is famous in her own right, so I think it would be too distracting if she played Marianne. They need to find a good actress with the right vibe.

She admits that dark songs are her specialty, but I actually think she's had an extremely varied recording career! Moreso than most people. Pop, folk, jazz, country, new wave, dance, punk, cabaret, etc etc.
