I hear the state is decreasing stocking by 20 %? But the creel limit is still 3 a day per person? Does not make sense.

Biggest fish year we have seen in 20 years. Limit needs to go to 2 and a minimum size IMO with the cuts.

The steelhead spawn in the spring. They come up the rivers to eat the king salmon eggs, and overwinter in the River, spawn, and drop back to the lake.

We don’t have king salmon eggs in our tributary’s for them to eat. They come up and spawn. In the fall and hang around under March/April and go back to Lake Erie.

@@tightlinefinatic3980 I am pretty sure the great lakes only have spring spawning steelhead. They do run in the fall but overwinter till spring to spawn. If there are fall spawners it must be an erie thing.

@@chrisfreeman4957 we have fish that will be spawned out by thanksgiving, we already have browns and steelhead that have loose eggs in them. Here in Erie we do get a spring push but it’s not like other states.

@@tightlinefinatic3980 not saying I doubt you but I'm pretty sure the Manistee fall run steelhead enter rivers in fall but still spawn in March/April. Either way - fall steelies are one of my favorites! Tight lines to ya !

Worst run ever. Hardly any fish. I’d stay away. It’s a waste of time. Ukrainians and Russians Netting every fish. Wouldn’t drive there if you gave me the gas money.

They catch 3 then goe to another stream and catch 3 more. Then another goes on all day. Seen it many times. Catch and release is the only way to go.
