Ever since I heard this version played by Jeroen van Veen a few years ago, other (faster) versions can't satisfy me anymore. Every note goes straight to the heart! Thank you.

That feeling when a beautiful song is slowed makes you feel sad and emotional just because of how it flows.

I own this album and I can't begin to relay the peace its brought to me. I bought it in Tenby in Wales for about £9 when my sister was staying there on vacation just as I was starting to collapse emotionally. I had never had a mental breakdown before that point and it was a weird time but this music got me through the drive back and ultimately I survived. I've been in steady work for a while now, I still enjoy the odd glass of absinsthe to celebrate this man!

van Veen absolutely OWNS the Satie....the best ever....stretched beyond limits of sonority and particle physics....BRAVO!

Van Veen's version possibly bears on maestro De Leeuw's one, dating back from 1982 and possibly the very first with a true slow tempo doing perfect justice to Satie's work

The transcendent Satie. The Dada is present even here. Dramatic minimalism induces a powerful amount of chills!

Actually this is finally the Satie that we've been waiting for for too long. The deep relaxing "yogic" effect is a real game changer. Truly rebellious interpretation of a "lazy" rebel that he was is a move to support! Nothing real ever happened with his music except "Blood Sweat & Tears" adopting his theme for two flutes and a guitar on their second album which is as epic as it gets. This an "anti" social statement that fights for a right to be non competitive and not caught up in the game of illusionary domination victories of the small minded. Can not be too slow. He is saying "No!" on purpose. And "No!" means "No!". Definitely a big "YES!" from my side to the Brilliant Classics team! #YESMEANSYES

This Slow Music from Satie conveys inner wisdom to a Masterpiece. It's very beautiful! The picture brings somewhat of a peaceful and solid achievement. A fine piece of Art 😊👌👌

A marvelous and careful manipulation of materials inflamed by temperate spirit ... There are very few moments when the intensity of what is presented here is imposed at this point !

@@joshtkd1706 I was half joking but I still think Satie would agree with me. I am extremely engaged with Satie's works. I have been for 40 years.
