These low-key, owner-pilot walkarounds are absolutely gold.

OMG My dad used to tap the wing when I was a kid, never knew why until now, probably thought it would freak me out if I knew...it wouldn't have. Love your videos Erik, everyone at work subscribes!

My God, Erik, I think you've done the impossible, got Bryan to actually be straight up for once. No jokes, no silliness. I mean, I knew he could do it, but I never actually expected to see it. Bryan, nice walk around of a nice airplane!

Thanks Bryan, I was never aware that Grumman even made a civilian plane, only military models.

You would be surprised at what Grumman made. They made several amphibians, including the Grumman Goose, the Widgeon and the Mallard and the Tadpole, which they only made one, but was later on developed into the Lake single engine pusher amphibians. Obviously, they had the AA-1, Yankee, Traveller, Trainer, Cheetah, and the twin-engined Cougar. Furthermore, they developed the G1 and G II, the G1 being a twin-engined turboprop business aircraft and the GII being a twin-jet business jet. They sold the designs and rights to Gulfstream Aerospace and they were renamed Gulfstream aircraft. They also designed a nice single engine airplane back in the 40's with tails that looked like a Lockheed Electra. Finally, they built the Lunar Excursion Module for the Apollo program!

is this a good plane for a beginner pilot?

The W&B threw me for a loop. After getting some instruction, it turns out Grumman used moment/1000 on the X axis versus arm (CG). With a little math, it’s very similar to other aircraft of the same kind. Great video BTW!
