In 1983, over the Baltic Sea, one captain on a MiG-23m won a demonstrative battle over a pair of Swedish "Wiggens" near the aircraft carrier "Moscow". The captain skillfully used all the technical capabilities inherent in this aircraft to win a maneuverable air battle. I'm sorry, I can't remember the captain's last name, but I shook his manly hand in 1998. God grant that the pilots converge only for demonstrative air battles!

It's great to see this Bulgarian Air Force Mig-23 still flying and in good condition keep up the good work. I wish my granddad was alive to see this bird still flying. He was stationed at Dobroslavtsi air base near the capital Sofia, where the last squadron was still flying it until it's deactivation in 2002 on the political orders of USA. So sad that the Bulgarian government put all the remaining perfectly flying planes on the runway and chop them on the runway for the americans to see and chear. He was one of the engineers, that kept this plane flying, I remember when he was told that the base will be closed and the planes destroyed he was crying and left the air force but his tattoo of the Mig-23 on his right forearm was a proud reminder for him.

@TheFaveteLinguis3 жыл бұрын

I can see it is not and late MLD version but one of the earlier one's . Is the engine restricted to 100% in burner if so that was done to save fuel and to stress the airframe less. The original modification has a seting to give 110-115% max power in burner for short periods and the jet was able to aoutrun and outclimb almost anything of the same era...
