THANKS FOR 13,000 SUBSCRIBERS! ♥️♥️♥️
This is a personal video. Honestly I still have days where it's impossible for me to make a video or do anything because I start to doubt myself, my looks, my voice. But I've somehow been able to deal with it!
How can I do KZbin as an introvert and what can we all do to become better at dealing with being in the spotlight? How can we manage nerves and anxiety ahead of performances, live shows and public speaking situations? What can we do to manage fear of the spotlight, stage fright, and performance anxiety?
Hey! My name is Erik Thor, and thanks to all the help from my viewers and patreons at patreons.com/erikthor I've been able to build a living on the side of my part-time job making videos about different personality types. I seek to cover Carl Jung and the sixteen personality types in the MBTI from an original perspective. I believe there are sixteen, not eight cognitive functions. I write about them at www.erikthor.com/cognitive-functions.
I also develop successful personality tests that can accurately predict your personality type. www.erikthor.com/test/personality-test with high accuracy. Try it out and share your results with me!
Why do I do it? Because I want to spread more flow and happiness in the world. I believe we spend too much time going against our own true nature, denying ourselves nad pretending to fit in. We should break free and find ourselves and find a lifestyle more suited to our needs and values. If we can do that, the world will be a better place, for everyone. Join the community @ / discord

Thanks for your insight. I only wish young people knew how, one day they will be better equipped to handle social situations. They have to go through all that anxiety for a long time before they get better at it. Wish there was another way. This is coming from an INFP, but it seems to be a journey of growth many personality types must take. Your videos are awesome Erik!

I am an INFP. With regards to what you said about being understood, know that you’ve truly helped me feel understood about how my mind works. I really do feel so validated and normal when I watch your videos. Thank you

This is so interesting because your reasons for feeling nervous in the spotlight are very different to mine as an ESFP! My nerves don’t come from doubting myself (the way I look or talk etc), or even whether people will approve of what I’m doing. My nerves would rather come from not reaching perfection. So ever since I gave up on the idea, and decided that I strongly believe “authentic and vulnerable is better than perfect”, I’ve had hardly any problems with stage fright or feeling nervous when I play my harp and sing. My performances have been more about serving others and less about me. It’s been a very powerful mind shift for me! 😃🙌🏻

@@Petig2002 usually the people with most to offer are the most hardly attacked by the evil ones, shadows are scared as shit every time they see a light dot . That's why. I agree with all of you btw.

A beautiful video. It's a salutary reminder also for singers/performers: make sure you're conveying material of some genuine worth. Helps me enter a worthwhile performing space, but I'd forgotten to check for it. You have lots of lovely English nuances here too incidentally.

Thats a Very important video, makes insecure people like myself relate to every word tou said in the first minutes and feel some inspiration to be better or continue to be a good person. I'm sure that when your Channel have hundred thoudands of subscribers (as it should by now) whenever menkind evolve enough to understand people like us, this will be a vid where they Will take much inspiration, add to all your study and comprehension of human species. Hugs from Brazil my Arcturian friend, stay strong!

Thanks for saying what i can't put into words . my struggling with stage fright i think comes from my fear of making mistakes or saying something stupid that hurt my pride and down look to myself. also I was having a problem with my body and now that it almost gone i can feel i can move and talk freely. I used to have stage fright, but it got better in time and I got used to play more in the background, guitar, bass or drums. Being lead singer didn't seem to suit me well. I don't like being seen that much I guess.

I think your voice and look are awesome by the way, maybe you are just in the wrong contry, come to Brazil or so and u'll find a group of followers just by beeing who you are, but no doubt your message are the most of all. (Just stating the obvious here in case it had passed unnoticed, I couldn' t care less for apparence as an ace INTP but obvious must always come out, words have life of their own and there's a chance mine will be of some use) Americans are cold people, they don't speak their minds, you Erik are most admired as you know for beeing exactly who you are, be certain of that.

Thank you! I appreciate this a lot. Can I ask you how you prepare what you talk about? Do you write it first and read it or do you just wing it?
@lisaia7877

It doesnt look like youre reading anything. It looks like your exploring your mind as you speak and formulating the words without planning as you find them to explain what you see in your head, and that you know specifically without having to refer back to anything, everything you want to get out in the video?
@ErikThor
@ErikThor 5 жыл бұрын
My best videos I write out in part first but then I wing it while I talk (I almost never read directly from the screen) but I have fast speed notes and a basic structure and content planned out in my head. I visualize a lot ahead of time, try to remember what I want to say, some key messages I want to get out, etc. Some videos, the less good ones, are winged.

You mentioned Meditation techniques to stay calm and centred. Have you made a video about these / if not, could you? I remember you discussed spacing out while shopping, so could you expand?
