I fell in Love with Jesse and this song! I wish he could go back to that time. So basic, simple, beautiful, romantic and without all the frills of Mics and headphones. Sigh..........

I was in oul' Reekie a few years ago, fab, faaaab city, loved it, didn't bump into any cheeky po-lice! Lucky for us! Glad the fella in the song set yer man right! Jesse, you would out sing all the bards in Edinburgh a 1000 times over. No lies there. They'd be damn lucky to have ya, as would we in Cork.👍❤

That's high praise, Mary. Thanks! I'd love to make it over to the UK and Ireland someday once my finances permit.

I am a great fan of Dick Gaughan's version but this is very fine. The rhythm of your guitar playing changes the song and brings something new and somehow modern to this old song. And to hear the song in your wonderful deep voice is a treat.

This is outstanding, and, along with a lot of your other tracks has inspired me to play these at the folk clubs. I was especially inspired by the Paul Brady track you did (Arthur McBride) and it has enabled me to now play it! A big thank you from me!

Hi Uriel, sure any song that can be played on guitar will also work on mandolin, though I find some songs sound better on one or the other.
