It Was Always You is my fave Hallmark movie. Chemistry between the 2 leads as others have mentioned, but Hynes' timing, delivery and dancing, couch exchanges with Krakow felt real, not at all like acting. He reminds me of Golden Era male leads who basically played themselves because they were such charismatic men in real life. No matter how many times I watch this film, I ALWAYS cry when he finally tells her the always you lines and I'm more of a "Okay, that's hokey" than a crier. Hynes already has an impressive portfolio, but this movie reminded me of Ryan Gosling's performance in The Notebook in terms of a career turn and shot at big box office dollars. I, for one of many I bet, hope so.

I am an outwardly cynical, closet romantic who used to make fun of my co-workers for watching Hallmark movies. Then I had surgery and was stuck at home feeling super low. I discovered Hallmark movies had the ability to perk me up and keep me buoyant. But it wasn’t all Hallmark movies. It was mostly Tyler’s movies; and I believe it’s because of what you described. He is so natural on screen. I love his dry wit and sarcastic humor. His performances seem very real. If he is playing himself, then he is one charming, witty, sweet, delightful human being.

What is great about this one was the rhythm of the story and the moments it laughed at itself. Tyler plays an aloof romantic lead that goes off into Tylerisms of humor. Erin plays the butt of most jokes is a very nice contrast to her serious role in When Calls the Heart. A very different top notch Hallmark movie. YOU WILL LOVE IT, BUT BE WARNED, IT IS OFF BEAT HUMOR.
