It is awesome to learn how much you have accomplished through all these years. As a traditional/full-time worker, I cannot envy you more. It looks like a lot of work, but a lot of fun and great experiences at the same time. Regarding the social media topic, it is nice that you have find the way to keep and document all those experiences you are having, and been able to make money out of it... even though it's a lot of $ or not, I'm sure that in a few years you'll be saying "thank God I did it". As a new fan of your channel, I just ask you to keep doing it! Sorry if there's any grammar mistake. Greetings from Mexico!

your genuineness about your personal experiences, has allowed me to realize that life won't ever be straightforward. It is fine to live a fulfilling life that has a fluctuating roller coaster. I appreciated your video very much, and I just happened to stumble on your channel today while I was researching entry level environmental jobs. You really brought me joy and courage through your journey. Thank you again for your authenticity.

Valedictorian, cheerleader, band, work. You're so impressive. What a genuinely great example and role model for anyone. Your parents must be so proud of you. I hope you are having a great summer 😊

Aww thank you for the kind words!!! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Definitely a lot of parts of me that I haven't shared on KZbin before so I am curious to see the response. It's been fun posting things that aren't just about "van life"!

Also, I'm happy to hear you prioritising your life ahead of KZbin and content creation. Always look after yourself first and take care of your mental health. Live your best life. You're so inspiring, Erin. Sincerely. Love that lil bit at the end about the hellscape we are in. It tough out there for so many people to do good for the world, work hard and feel fulfilled while still being able to make ends meet. Another fun, genuine and good hearted video 😊

Also also, wtf I can't believe (well actually it's sadly not surprising at all) what those misogynistic asses did to you at the lavender farm?! Even after all you had done for them, they hired you, you showed them how they could diversify their crop and yield, got on TV and no doubt got them free publicity and coverage with that! The absolute shamelessness of it all. Gives me such second hand anger. You showed so much grace and control talking about them, cause they didn't deserve it by the sound of it. Good for you for rising above and moving forward, not letting them ruin your love for farm work.

I have a place in Charlevoix and I met one of the owners of that lavender farm at some event in the area. He seemed nice enough but when I asked him farming-related questions his answers were all about tourism dollars and business growth. I moved on from that conversation quickly because it was boring.

Yeah it sucks to be putting a lot of effort into something and don't get much return for it but hang in there. These type of videos are the kind that continue to get viewed years later and are a lot more relatable because basically all of us have to work. I got to this video from watching the Yosemite one, because now I'm thinking of doing seasonal jobs even if they pay less, just to do something out of my comfort zone and get to experience new things, so thanks for posting this and helping me realize that we can find a way to have an adventure even while working.

Hi Erin! I was just up in that area the end of May, first of June. It was my third year going to an event at a near by resort. This was the 1st year I did a tour of the lavender farm. Yes, it was the one you managed. I enjoyed the tour, learned a lot. But can't help but feel for you not being treated fairly. Kind of took away from my views of the farm.

@@erin_elyse You absolutely need to put NZ at the top of your bucket list. It is a nature lover's paradise, and the ultimate van life place. You can easily rent a fully equipped van and enjoy some of the most spectacular landscapes in the world. You will have fun in Ecuador, a country that I visited a lot for business and pleasure when I was living in South America. My understanding is that it is not as safe as it used to be, but I am certain that the travel company you partner with knows perfectly which places are perfectly safe and which ones to avoid.

@@Tristan_de_Kermadec NZ is gorgeous!! I emigrated here twenty years ago and live in a very small van/ car… it is very hard to freedom camp in many areas here though … camp sites can be very expensive… some cities are easier to park in than others if you are quiet and clean, but you have to find a busy street where the residents don’t notice you and leave early I live near Queenstown in the South Island and luckily I work and park in a camp site here… there is no freedom amping in this entire area and it’s strictly enforced 😭instant fines are common The scenery makes up for it though, and doc sites are much cheaper but there’s no power/ water/ internet cover / showers etc so the more self contained you are, the better… travelling here is stunningly memorable…. Just check the laws through van apps etc for each area you visit so you are prepared!! You will have a wonderful time
