I'm old enough, and I don't see the similarity. Judy Collins was (and still is) more smooth and polished, with less break between syllables. This singer has more articulation (breaks) between syllables. It's perfectly suited to the style of music that the group plays. (BTW I heard Judy Collins live recently - her voice is as good as ever, maybe even better than on early recordings. A magnificent lady at 79 years.)
