The NES has some good volley ball games. I think super spike volley ball is probably the best on the system, and the soundtrack is pretty awesome.

I gave up on Kabuki Quantum Fighter because the game is BRUTAL with no checkpoints and limited continues. I almost bought that game back in the day and I'm glad I didn't because I would have cried when I found out I spent my hard-earned money on a game with no checkpoints and limited continues. I think it came out at the end of the NES lifecycle and I think I passed on it for a SNES game. A friend of mine and I beat Kings of the Beach. It took us so many tries but we finally beat it. I don't remember why I bought that game because I usually don't get into sports games but that one I bought for some reason. My mom got mad at me because my friend and I were sitting in my room playing that game and swearing at it like crazy. And then she got mad when we beat it because we were yelling and screaming and jumping around and "high-fiving" each other. But it was satisfying to beat after SO MANY tries.

The reason nobody talked about Kid Icarus is because they got filtered, the game is hard and usually when someone is defeated they tend not to talk about that battle. I beat the game as a kid and still like the game, it's not some masterpiece but it's fun and challenging. I am the only person I know personally that beat Kid Icarus and I grew up in the 80s and 90s so I knew plenty of gamers but I was the only one. I suspect most people who played it didn't get far and thus either not mention it or say they hate it and it's not worth your time.
