I was born & raised in L.A. & lived for a number of years in WA, so I'd never had Blue Bell ice cream until I moved to Tucson, but it's now my favorite brand. I have a gallon of Blue Bell Cookies & Cream in my freezer right now & normally I'm not a lover of "stuff" in my ice cream, but this stuff is the best!

In the early 60s, soft drinks came in smaller sizes. So whenever we went to Texas to visit Daddy's family Mom always bought several "Texas-sized" bottles of Dr. Pepper since they weren't sold in Alabama. I, on the other hand, always begged to eat at What-a-Burger while in Texas.

My mom is Texan. As I was growing she served up a “meat-and-potato” dinner with a dessert; but no soda! 🙄 Dr. Pepper (honestly all of their sodas) is THE BEST when it’s from McDonald’s because they add more syrup to their syrup/carbonated water ratio. That way as the ice melts, it takes much longer before it starts to taste watered down. So, those first few sips are absolutely the best. Now I drink Diet Dr. Pepper (because it’s “healthier” 🙄😂

For example my son just started eating cheese doritos dipped in McDs BBQ sauce. I was like WHAT are you eating!? I'm not a huge fan of doritos but it wasn't terrible. I don't know about that pb banana and honey gruel but on a sandwich, I could roll with it if you don't smash the banana. Ok, about BK, also my favorite place growing up and now, but their prices are rapidly getting out of control, like almost 5 guys level out in my area. $15 for that is totally nuts. We really gotta get you guys to visit my area in upstate NY. We have a local convenience store brand that has a few flavors of ice cream that have so much butter fat that makes it not completely harden when frozen. One particular flavor is graham cracker flavored ice cream with marshmallow swirl and peanut butter cups. It is totally crazy and amazing.

I'm curious about it too! I was told to go get some blood work done and to keep an eye on it. I had nightmares last night about it. I think there's a supplement? But I am very much in the early stages. My grandmother died of cirrhosis of the liver and my dad has diabetes which is also connected. I will keep you all updated for sure as I learn more

😂😂😂 so true, people in the south don’t use a lot of words and if they have a heavy accent…good luck!! I was raised in NC most of my life but didn’t really pick up the accent, probably because my parents were both from different states. However, my brother is 10 years younger than me and most definitely has a slight NC accent.
