Excellently written and excellently performed. The music of P. Weinrauch has its own musical aesthetic. It does not coincide so-called “Viennese Classicism”. It takes different paths and has more in common with the music of the “sensitive style” of Carl Philipp Emmanuel Bach or the “Mannheim School” from the time of Elector Carl Theodor of the Palatinate. In addition, the influences of Johann Michael Haydn, who worked in Salzburg and was in contact with the Upper Swabian imperial monasteries. P. Weinrauch compositions were appreciated in large parts of southern Germany and Switzerland; they reached Mariazell in Styria and, as recent research shows, have even been found in monasteries in Poland and Hungary.
