All the guys’ solo projects really showed MCR dissected. It’s so interesting. Gerard’s storytelling, Frank’s raw emotions, Ray’s technical perfection and Mikey’s catchy rhythms. MCR, and Frank in genral, has some of the most interesting harmony ever played on guitar. He uses power chords not as a way to make a progression, but rather to add color and spice to a given progression. Its such an inspiration.

So I have a weird history with My Chem. When I was an early teen, I thought that they were a band that posers in the scene for harder music listened to (admittedly, my favorite two bands at the time were like Slipknot and Metallica so all insults to teenage me welcome).
