Some of the dyes used for home tied-dye only bond to cotton, the neck tag is generally synthetic.

Hey Cindy 1) 24 hours before rinsing 2) the shirt is damp (wet it and then squeeze out as much water as you can) 3) washcare instructions would be to not wash it with other pieces of clothing for the first 2 washes atleast. Hope that helps :)

The longer you let it set the deeper the colors. Wash first with just soap to remove any sizing .. don't dry. After the washer spins out excess water. I start with however I plan on folding, crinkling, etc.. once dyed I put into a plastic bag and leave at least 24 hrs or more. Rinse as she did .. then wash and dry. Use 100% cotton or rayon for best results.

I never really thought about the words "tie dye" i only associated the sound of the word with the pattern growing up. Who knew what amazingly beautiful patterns of colors can be created by "tie dye", that is why i'm here sharing my experience.
