My local tie dye shop usually crumple bleaches black shirts then over dyes the color (shows in the negative spaces) for a similar effect. My fav. shirt is crumple bleached / spiral dyed

You need to leave it soaking in water n soda ash.. that makes it brighter! And probably use good quality ink or neon! But soda ash does the trick for me! Using crappy tullip ink!

This is something new to me. Back in the late 60's, we would put rubber bands on dark clothing and pour bleach over them. That was our tie dye. The only problem was worrying if the bleach would eat through the clothing. This is so cool.

Shirt has to be soaked in soda ash first, then dye dry or spun dry.
