I've always thought with the exception of Yohan Blake, no one could be legitimately considered to break Bolts 200m record unless they broke his junior record in 200m given he was the only junior in history to achieve sub 20 and for Erriyon Knighton to achieve the same and even destroy that record is surreal. Hopefully he hasn't peaked and will only improve from here.

@@acemxe8472 Don't think Lyles can do it. Because his legs aren't long enough. The record was set by a tall man. It will only be broken by a tall man. And Knighton is a tall man with fantastic turnover. He is only 18. And Lyles is 25. I believe Lyles will improve upon 19.31. But not 19.19. That will be Knightons moment over the next 5 to 7 years. Imagine him in his absolute prime by 23 to 25. What Lyles and Knighton are going to do in my opinion is push the Jamaicans Bolt And Blake back to 3rd and 4th alltime. I believe Lyles could go 19.25. And Knighton 19.18. On their best day.
@acemxe84722 жыл бұрын
@@fender1000100 Long legs has nothing to do with capabilities because he just rain 19.31. Usain Bolt only ran under 19.30 one time and he has longer legs. Yohan Blake is the same height as Noah Lyles and he ran a 19.26 with a horrible start, and if he had a good start, he most likely would’ve got the world record. @@sirrz1267 You don't know shit. Michael Johnson was 28 when he ran 19.32. And 31 when he ran 43.18 for the 400m. Everyone doesn't peak at 25 you clown. Look at the Jamaican women. Like Fraser Pryce. Still running fast and winning gold at 35. Get a CLUE man. And Lyles just proved you wrong. Breaking the American record that stood for 26 years by Michael Johnson. With 19.31 the other day. So you are so wrong you can never be right. Now Knighton has 7 to 10 years to run times that will make history. He is already faster than bolt was at 18. Bolt didn't hit the world hard until 22. And thats the age I believe Knighton will start tearing up the records. 22 to 28 he will be the fastest of alltime at 200 metres and become only the second man to run under 9.69 for the 100m. That's by prediction for Knighton by the age of 28. World record holder at 200m and second fastest of alltime at 100m.

If he doesn't get a serious injury this guy is for sure going to break Bolt's 200m WR in the next several years. He is 0.44 faster than Bolt as a U-20 athlete, it's only his first race of the year, and he will even be a junior still NEXT year in 2023. He might end up running over half a second faster than Bolt did as a U-20, suggesting that when he reaches the peak of his career he might be able to not just run faster than the WR but run well under 19.00. (18.80? 18.70?!!) He might break Bolt's 19.19 when he is still a JUNIOR athlete!! It's the most amazing thing we've ever seen in the sport. This is a great video! I have watched it over and over... The thing that strikes me is hour efficient Knighton is. You can see it in regular motion but it becomes even more apparent when you watch at .25 speed. I was watching to see if Fanbulleh was gaining on Knighton in the closing meters and he did not appear to be doing so. What did out to me was Knighton had no wasted movement. From his hips to his shoulders is completely still and his arms and legs have as perfect of stride mechanics as I have ever seen. He looks to have the quality stride of Bob Beamon and Carl Lewis( but different as in his own). In comparison, Fanbulleh looks like a brute, he just pins the ground like he wants to make a 6 foot hole in the ground with every step.... Fanbulleh is great but Knighton is out of this world smooth.

We are very fortunate that NIL money was not available before he signed to go pro track as a high school junior.
