SOLUTION: If you can't change the Owner in Regedit, I found a way! You need to do it in Safe Boot. vote up if you find this useful If you don't know how: 1- click on Start menu, search for Control Panel, open it 2- change View by to Small Icons 3- click Windows Tools, then System Configuration (yes you can search for System Configuration in the Start menu now, but you won't be able to once you're in Safe Mode because a lot of things in Windows will be disabled) 4- click on Boot tab, and select Safe Boot (Minimal) 5- a popup will prompt you to Restart, do it 6- now you can change the Windows Defender owner (as shown in the video) 7- once you're done, follow steps 1-5 except in step 4, deselect Safe Boot to restart in normal mode
