Here's something I noticed in all 3 Dark Knight movies. Batman is fighting one villain almost the whole movie. Then when Batman defeats him towards the end, another one comes around immediately after that. BB: Fighting Scarecrow, then Ra's al Ghul TDK: Fighting Joker, then Two-Face TDKR: Fighting Bane, then Talia al Ghul.

Actually he planned his death with Gordon by providing him with the car and telling him to go to Wayne Tower to destroy the rail line. And then he left him to die on the train thus making it a premidated plan to kill Ra's al Ghul. So still murder. There was also no reason for him to board the train other than to make sure Ra's was on it and that he could not stop the train. So he literally boarded the train to make sure it would crash and kill him.

+The Samurai Cop Same here. There are only two scenes in the trilogy when he spoke in his Bruce Wayne voice as Batman, first time with Rachel in the batcave. I think sensitive moments are when he talks in his real voice. I think it would've been nice if he spoke in his Bruce voice at the end of TDK with Two-Face.

I will give you that such a hypothetical is possible, but if Batman were truly thinking ahead, he probably wouldn't have been penetrated by the woman he was penetrating in the first place. And any plan that requires you to sit and listen to a person talk while that person is stabbing you in the ribs is an empirically bad idea, no matter the ends.

Vir Animus while I see and respect your point, think about the fact that he was caught by surprise when she stabbed him (thinking he could trust her, a fatal mistake) and then pushed through the pain knowing he had to stall her. I will agree though that it was not part of his plan to get stabbed. Think about how shocked he was, because he still had no idea who had the detonator and no idea that she was Ra's daughter, he had total trust in her

Even though I kinda knew she was going to be Talia, I still love this scene when she shows her true colors. People have complained that it was too much too late, but I disagree. After she reveals herself, the flashbacks of her climbing out, her father rescuing Bane and recruiting him, training him and Talia, etc.... That explains it all. And when you look back on her character before she reveals herself, she says things like "restoring balance to the world" or "do what is necessary". That's something that her father would say. If you look at it from that perspective in my opinion, it all falls into place.

I think they're relationship is more like the father figure and daughter figure kind of type. Like, Bane was still a grown man when he was still in prison, and Talia was only a child. So I bet he probably had a fatherly attachment towards her, one example is when he saved her from the prisoners in the pit in order for her to escape. If not that, then Bane is probably an uncle kind of type. Sorry if my English and explanation isn't good enough to understand...

This evil being who beat the crap out of Batman and killed people here and there without hesitation had tears when listening to Talia and about him saving her. He was good at the beginning. If he had died there in the pit by the other prisoners, he would had died a hero. But he didn't and he did see himself become the villain.

Look at Batman at 3:25 - 3:36, the utter sadness and pain are clearly shown on his face, the way he helplessly says "please", and the fact that Batman is able to display so much emotions even with almost all of his face shielded, just makes me fathom how anybody can possibly say Christian Bale's Batman sucks...

I thought I was the only one to notice this, Bane was so powerful in this scene in a way, he didn't say a word but the way Hardy expressed his eyes was outstanding, after this scene when Talia says "goodbye my friend" and strokes Bane's mask, the look on Hardy's eyes was so powerful and emotional. Hardy deserves a fucking oscar, everyone in this movie does? Caine, Bale, Anne, Hardy.

@Jake R The quote is supposed to be for *some* people, individuals if you will. For example, a person who was once a really good and moral person, later in his life becomes quite the opposite for certain reasons. It is not supposed to be applied to every single good person in the world, only to those who were once good, and are now bad. I thought that was obvious maybe not.

I still remember the midnight screening for this and how the entire theater gasped when Talia revealed her true self and stabbed him. It was such a perfectly guarded secret until the end, because Bane kept the spotlight on himself through much of the film and it only seemed like he was keeping her as a hostage for leverage against Bruce. While Heath Ledger's legacy as the Joker cast a huge shadow over this movie when it came out, I think it still aged well over the years. It was incredibly relevant at its release due to the fallout from the '08 crash and the Occupy Wall Street movement that was still going on (Nolan declined to include actual street protests to avoid trivializing them).
