Honestly had Erwin lived there would be no split between the Yeagerists and Paradis government. Erwin was one of the few people Eren took seriously and actually deferred to. Floch and Hange also revered Erwin and would have been unquestionably loyal to him. Erwin was also proactive about dealing with problems. Had he lived, he would have been vindicated in seeing that his father was right. Knowing about Marley and the world, he'd actually be proactive in reaching out to other nations and forming alliances instead of simply sitting on his hands like how Hange and Zackly did letting Marley rally the world around them.

Commander Erwin Smith was, is, and always will be my favorite character in AOT. I only got into the series recently with my older bro, we're all caught up with Anime. What a wild ride. I have a curse with fictional media. My favorite character 9/10 ALWAYS dies. (once-in-a-blue-moon time they don't, then they quickly become irrelevant and forgotten) My brother and I went into the series completely blind...and I knew my favorite character would die. Commander Erwin Smith will always be the G.O.A.T.

I think u misread Erwin's carachter a little. He was, indeed, selfish in his objectives, but he had a profound cense of duty with his comrads. That's why when he lost the arm he says that he isn't as important as everybody thinks. He is just a person who is, right now, acting in the role of comander. Notice that in the final moment in which he thinks about his dream he never considers other options of action in which he survives. He is selfish, but he is firstly pragmatic.

I personally would still argue Erwin would not be onboard with a full rumbling...that being said, learning the truth would open so many possibilities to Erwin and paradise for their future moving forward. I feel like it's very likely the same results would occur...simply because coming up with a better strategy requires way too much time, patience, and work...and ultimately Eren wouldn't want to wait for such measures because it's leaving Paradise's fate to chance. But, I could also see him stopping Eren before things got way too out of hand. The jeagerists would be put in their place before such a movement was created, and people may even side against Eren even more. But what also sucks, is recognizing...paradise could be in even more peril then it currently is, because Eren lost his support. Erwin would have to become a devil (like Eren) to sway the masses. I just don't see it being possible with his ideology heavily reflecting the scouts.
