A happy ending does not mean zero conflict or unfulfillment of a story arc in of itself. It simply means that it would have an overall conclusion of hope rather than despair - a comedy instead of a tragedy.

After the main cast die and war resumes it shows a kid wandering toward the very same tree where the Worm was first found. Indicating that for the tree to be this significant the Worm mustve realised its failure and gone back to where it was first given a chance at its goal with the hopes of someone making it there again. Especially seeing as its power isnt only its own. It required contact with a human to even create a titan therefore meaning that so long as the Worm and humans exist at the same time titans can always be created given the endless possibilities of the two species coming in contact.

This manga is not going to end because the money isn’t in the manga it’s in the merchandise. Why would they risk their cash cow by giving the ending any kind of finality that some fans might not like. If those fans don’t like the ending these corporate people are afraid they won’t continue to consoome so there you go. That’s the real reason why this manga is never going to end. Get ready for decades of meaningless speculation and “deep dive” videos up until the bitter end when they do actually choose to end this story and it ends up being an incoherent mess much like attack on titan

Its better that the series doesn't end with a bang. We all want an ending that will never come and it will live with us and inspire us. I hope people continue its legacy through a truer work instead of the garbage low effort references the industry tries about. Something like what Pluto was to Astro Boy.

I enjoy both shounen and seinen. As I get older, I lean toward seinen. But, if you look at older shounen like dbz, Naruto, etc the shonen hero is childlike powerful optimistic person.
