Nah nah but the cultural significance of the most Japanese influenced and European influenced units covering the CODE GEASS ending hit different when I finally realized it. @@jeffhensen5607 it’s really simple actually, if you’ve never seen code geass (I’ve only seen the first season) the setting takes place in a futuristic world where basically its holy british empire is trying to take over the world including japan. I’m not exactly sure about the in world politics are, as it’s been a while since I’ve watched it and honestly the in depth war stuff went over my head. But yeah, it’s basically, how I remember it, British vs. Japanese. Valkyrie has their whole Victorian steam punk aesthetic and Akatsuki is very obviously Japanese themed so them covering the ending is most likely a very intentional homage to the series.

List of allegories between the lyrics and the characters/story: 0:18 old Valkyrie’s downfall was partly due to their own unseen weaknesses 0:41 “Lucifer” could be seen as Eichi as Keito did things he regrets as his accomplice 0:57 Souma is a samurai type character and is very loyal to those close to him, enough so that he may hold their life in higher regards to his own 1:11 even though Keito did the things he did under Eichi’s rule, he doesn’t wish to be defined by that 1:19 Kuro’s mom… 1:38 Mika journey throughout !! to understand who he wants to be and not just a doll that is created by another person, but as an artist that is born of his own will 1:46 Souma’s righteousness despite having ties to the Shinkai cult (i could be reaching on this one tbh) 1:54 Shu’s love and having to restrain himself from smothering Mika because of the same problem that happened with Nazuna (even though he loves them both in his own way) 2:02 tattoos are often tied with gangsters in Japan, could be referenced with Kuro’s past 2:17 more references with Kuro’s past 2:21 When Mika first joined Valkyrie, he was very inexperienced and foolish in his decision to be an idol 3:15 both Akatsuki and Valkyrie are groups that takes a lot of pride in their performances and really emphasizes it This song is a more perfect fit for both these units than you would think and i’m so happy its an ali project song too (its like enstars is paying homage to her for the songs she wrote for them). I love this cover so much, not even words can describe it properly. I listen to it every day at least 100 times on repeat, it is a very nostalgic song and this cover is just too good. I never knew how much I wanted Valkyrie and Akatsuki, the units with the best music in enstars to come together and make a cover of the code geass ending until this masterpiece came out. Everything about this is beautiful, the instrumental, the heavenly vocals, the characters, the outfits, the lyrics, the concept. This song is literally the heaven of my ears and brain, it lives in my head all the time. It makes me forget the reality I am living in and it makes me feel emotions I have never felt before. I feel more alive when I am listening to this, it cures my depression temporarily, and it fills the hole in my empty heart. Every time I listen to this, I get moved and I feel overwhelmed with emotions I never usually feel. Thank you ali project, the Gods behind this masterpiece, without you we would never have this cover sent down to us from heaven. this cover/song will always have a place in my heart, and I will treasure it forever till the end.
