Thanks Esben. Another very well done tutorial. I have been going down much the same path with outdoor HDRI and area/pin lighting for our transportation lighting designs. We (NAL/Koito) do automotive forward and signal lighting. Illuminating inner product detail through, sometimes multiple clear lenses while keeping ambient (wash light) glare to a minimum is still a bit of a trick.

Hi Esben, great video and technique. I am trying to apply the steps you explain in the video to one of my renderings, but when I get to the area light step I am not getting as much of a dramatic effect from the lit plane. Increasing the lumens does not change the lighting intensity much and the object stays relatively dark. What could I be doing wrong? Thank you for your help

Have you tried increasing the light intensity by a factor of 10 or 100?

Haven't thought about it. At the moment I'm quite happy with the setup. Having one ultra-wide screen instead of two, would be nice though. I guess I'll wait and see what the market looks like once I need a new monitor. I suspect that a lot of things will happen meanwhile technology-wise.

Amazing tips mate, thank you very much but my Nvidia GeForce GTX 965 M literelly can do nothing. It's completely useless and powerless against KeyShot 8.1 pro. I'm having 3 second delays for every move i make. They say KeyShot is based on CPU power but i don't think so, GPU must have something to do with it.
