Very emotional song that made me shed a few tears without me understanding a single word he sings. That's how powerful great music can be. My number one so far. I love these classical songs, it will still sound beautiful in ten or twenty years from now and beyond... Really hope he will take this song to Liverpool and not go for a different song, this is already perfection ❤️

I agree with everything you said. That type of songs works for me as well but a lot of it comes from him as well. I just resonate with his voice and I rarely dislike anything he sings. I belive Italy will make the best decision that will work for them!

I saw that many younger Italian Eurovision fans like me kind of hoped to see something more modern represent Italy. If Finland always sends rock and Sweden pop, Italy always sends ballads, and the one time we won in recent years it was with something different. And there were indeed some good fan-favourite songs that represented the modern Italian music scene like Lazza and Madame's. But this song is very nice nonetheless and Italians will be proud to be represented by it, and there seem to be quite a few eurofans who really like this type of songs, too, so we really can't complain! I agree that the staging needs to be well thought-out to elevate this as much as possible for those who won't be impressed just by Marco's vocals. The staging at Sanremo clearly had some thoughts behind it for Sanremo standards, with all the light show happening behind him, so this gives me hope that staging won't be ignored at Eurovision. To be fair, Marco Mengoni hasn't confirmed that he will bring this song to Eurovision yet, saying he will finish recording his album and see if there's something else in there or not. I'm of the opinion that Italy's chosen song should represent the country, but it's also true that: it needs to be cut down to 3 minutes and it might not work as well; Marco might want to take the chance to promote something different on an international stage [maybe even in English, since he speaks it well? (Check out his Let It Be cover performance from Sanremo!)]; and if there's someone who can be trusted to bring a different just-as-good unreleased song, that is him haha. But yeah, Due Vite has already proven successful for juries and public, and has already got a lot of publicity and success due to winning Sanremo, so it might be a waste and a risk to change song. We'll see!

I dont mind a ballad like this winning i just never understood why he was the runaway favorite. 3rd place maybe in Sanremo. Also not the biggest fan of his voice

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It's nice to hear from an Italian and see your perspective of things. I think that Italian ballads have that effect on Eurovision audience just like Balkan ballads. We don't consider them as special as the rest of the Europe. I am hoping Marco will keep the song but I am aware that they have to cut it and it might not work. I know Italy will do well and, to be honest, I'd rather listen to the more classical ballad with a vocalist like Marco, than modern song ballad that didn't really work live like last year (don't come after me, I like the song but that live was not what I was expecting).

ANOTHER WASTED OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE FOREIGNERS’ PERSPECTIVE ABOUT ITALY. Cenere by Lazza was a much better choice, as much as many other brilliant Sanremo songs. It has a BOMB of a production by Dardust, and it’s obviously 10 times more anjoyabme than Due Vite. Elodie and Madame were not bad picks, too . I totally respect and admire Marco, but this is just another basic ballad with no production at all. We are the “pizza mafia slow ballads country” according to the European audience, we could show them it is not true at all but we just don’t care much about that. The song we send to ESC should be INDEPENDENT from Sanremo, because press boomers always vote for outdated tunes!

See Mario I feel you 100% and I had the same thoughts... our audience always picks safe and outdated songs (Croatia) and then this year we got... THAT. I am familiar with the Italian music scene (we're kinda neighbours) and I know you have much more to offer than male power ballads. I am in the camp of people who love that because I simply do. About the song selection, that is another story but the winning song doesn't have to be your representative. It's the delegation who decides things like that. I wouldn't say Sanremo is the problem, it is just what your delegation believes should represent Italy? Maybe, I don't know... just thinking about it. But you will do great anyways (just like in the previous 2 years).
