Just a note to add i looked at the plane after and one of the aileron horns had cracked!

I'm amazed you flew it in that wind. I still need the stabilizer to enjoy flying mine, and rudder for turning always. Great "honest" review mate!

Nice to see you back! I enjoy your videos. I have been looking at that model for some time, now I might get one and modify it as you suggested before flying it. will look for your next video to see how the mods worked out. Thanks for posting.

Looked like it was a handful from the onset Rob, you did a great job of keeping it under control. Guess the cracked aileron horn wasn't helping.

Not sure when the broken horn happened. So may have affected the flight. Let's see what it goes like after a few mods!

That looked hard work, but it was really windy. Be interesting to see what she flys like once you tinker about.

Just another mod with mine I cut the alerions shorter and taped the cut section down about 35 degrees fixed in place flaps fantastic flyer now takes off fine steeper but easy and flys so much slower, cheers.

I bet you put in 9g servos with some pushrod upgrades, you would have a solid biplane

This is one of my favorite small models. Mine rolls fine, this has to be a setup issue, go higher rates on ailerons and bring the cg foward a bit. I think it flies nicely go figure. Flying a 800mm model isnt going to go great when its as windy as hell.

You have to use rudder in a Tiger Moth - and/or have at least 50% aileron differential. Well done getting it down in one piece. Pity the undercarriage is nothing like scale.

Your right! Thats why balsa build up is better. The ARFs are supposed to be fit and aligned to the fuselage before shipping from the factorys but, I guess this one doesn't care. Thanks, not buying this one.

Good saving that plane, 90% including me would have put it into the ground. Those servos and servo wire are crap, maybe little hollow straws or tubes around the wire may help, but yes once again good saving her from the fire pit.

Great vid, I've watched a few of your other build/fly reviews, This is another DW flying brick, like the Storch. Maybe next time just cut the lower edge of the rudder to clear the elevator, less work and how scale can the plane look with a pair of servo's hanging out of it's ass.

£230 for that? Seems to be very problematic. If if was me, I would go to Sussex Model Centre and look at RBC Tiger Moth Kit (Short Kit) for £101.66. Granted you would have to get all of the other bobs and bits. But atleast you know it was done properly.

Most all kits now days seem to have to be modified to work correctly . Plus Balsa was once real nice, today it is so thin in kits you buy , also in bulk balsa packages . Quality has declined a lot over the years. But with building experience most all of it can be overcome .
