Yes there are many defences and I am a massive fan of wrestling (I feel that Wrestling is severely under-rated) However keep in mind that this is a Self-Defence approach where I often have to worry about multiple attackers and also avoid ending on the ground. Also, I teach this to Law enforcement who often carry firearms. They need to get out and acces their fire-arms. Last, in wrestling illegal strikes are not permitted. It would be stupid not to use illegal strikes if there is no ruleset. Hence the fact my defence is the way it is. But I agree that there are a great options in wrestling
