This is really cool. In China I've never seen anything like it, the high rise buildings are a death trap in case of fire.
@Chris-Christopher-
@Chris-Christopher- Жыл бұрын
A real high rise would need something a lot longer than these. I'm not sure how well these would scale to higher heights. One issue that would need to be addressed is its stability from its own weight and also from the higher winds it would likely experience at heights. The corridors around large numbers of tall buildings have strong winds in them. The other issue would be their limited capacity. If it's a very densely populated building with many floors, then a lot of people who need to be rescued, then how many of those can realistically be deployed on every floor that needs it? I'm sure there might be some good solutions to those concerns, but I'm also sure there are other issues I'm not smart enough to think about.

How does it slow you down?? By turning? But then how would it turn you??
@bovinicusdivinicus
@bovinicusdivinicus 6 ай бұрын
Your crossed feet turn you. It slows you down by closing above you which basically creates a vaccum negative pressure above. This creates a "sucking" from above which slows you down. Like taking a syringe without a needle and putting your finger over the end. Imagine you are the plunger inside the tube. As you pull it creates vacuum

For very tall buildings just have a multi slide system where the higher ones go to a platform with another slide. Going down a hundred feet or so per stage. Ten floors at a time.

There is some sort of arrrangement inside (a cloth sewn inside in a helical shape, I think) that makes you rotate as you descend. This means you are following a longer path than straight down, so you take longer to reach the bottom. It has the same effect as if you were sliding down a slope such as a zip wire. No doubt the friction of the fabrics slows you down too.

This should be part of the building standard regulation in all buildings and 'home' above a certain height. If not the planning of any building should not be given - Period!.
