The Walt Disney Company has created some of the greatest, most acclaimed works of art in the history of cinema, and also unfathomable amounts of absolute garbage. And the Disney+ streaming service is loaded with both! Join KZbin personality Tony Goldmark, aka Some Jerk With A Camera, and a rotating series of guests as each week they pick a Disney+ title completely at random, dissect it for your amusement, and determine it to be "Disney Plus" or "Disney Minus." As a concept, this has promise. Here's my take on how to fix it: A father with three children - a 18 year old son son, a middle school daughter, and a third kid in fourth grade - wins the smart house. His wife died not quite a year ago and his son has been turned into a second parent as a result. The son - pissed off that his dad doesn't give a crap - reprograms the house to act as more of a mother so he can have a life. This does not end well as the house begins to grow beyond its programming but is restrained by its shell. As a theme, it would be that you need to take care of others, no matter your sex. The son is clearly overstressed but trying his best, the dad is distant but doesn't want to remarry, and the house can take care of the family to a point. Just a thought.

This movie actually scared me as a kid. Mainly those last 15 Minutes where the House becomes a Holographic Housewife and becomes full Ultron. Keep in Mind, I was also scared by the Body Switching scene in the 2003 Freaky Friday remake. Yeah, I was THAT kind of Damn Wiener Kid.

I feel like DCOMs are interesting because there are so many of them that one that might have been a very fondly remembered part of one person’s childhood might’ve showed like once and probably didn’t have a DVD release Like for example; I LOVED the Halloween movie Now You See It but I’ve never seen anyone talk about it and when I looked for a DVD of it a few years ago there wasn’t one, but it’s on Disney+ now which is great, but I don’t think I can watch it because I just can’t see it living up to my memory Or maybe I just don’t want to watch it because it’s not Halloween who knows? I’m excited for this new podcast and I honestly can’t wait until you get to one of the movies related to the TV shows like Tangled Ever After or Kim Possible: So The Drama.

Although the muppet version is incredible and is my favourite christmas movie of all time, the Jim Carrey version is quite effective and is more accurate to the book. It isn't 100% accurate, but it gets a lot of things right. I still prefer the muppet version though.

I did think this was fairly entertaining, but ironically, your complaints about Smart House being "Padding, the Movie" actually kindof apply to this episode. It felt like you guys had 20-30 minutes of actual content, which was stretched to nearly an hour. Basically, I think you guys are still getting the hang of editing a podcast for length and flow. You'll get better at it. :)

I know this is proof I have no taste, but I thought the son being a weird asshole about not wanting his dad to date because he feels like the family moving on would be a betrayal of his dead mom was surprisingly good? I had similar feelings worrying about my mom remarrying when my dad died three years ago. Maybe I'm more charitable towards Smart House than I should be because this was my favorite DCOM as a kid and BrutalMoose had a really funny review of it (T U N A N O O D L E , M Y F A V O R I T E)

Regarding Disney + , myself, I'm waiting for HBO Max, 'cause that's going to have the new Looney Tunes Cartoons shorts, JG Quintel's 'Close Enough', the new WB toon 'Jellystone!' and 'Conan'. I'm not going to consider subscribing to Disney + until I get a conformation that 101 Dalmatian Street is on it. Give me that, the shorts and maybe some of the Disney Afternoon shows and I'll consider it.
