@@mobid.2084 I watch a lot of content I have zero interest in for a few reasons... Ignoring pop culture means you're always on the outside of a society wide inside joke. Great art is still great art, and great stories are still great stories. Technically impressive feats and scientific advancements are still cool (Waterworld was not good, but it really seemed like the entire planet was flooded). Oh even though most people can guess I should add that I'm a Black American. Anyway despite the fact that it was in theory a hard no for me too, my brain tried to convince me to watch it anyway and my conscious just kept coming up with all the excuses I listed in the original comment. I did watch: Underground Seasons 1 and 2 Antebellum I Kindred I think the fact that they had a fantasy element (as in Sci-Fi) or a fantasy element (as in revenge fantasy) is what allowed me to watch. 12 Years a Slave, (the new) Birth of a Nation, and even different topic same trauma Killers of the Flower Moon are too grounded in reality for me to consume without a stick or a carrot. Sorry for the long reply... Guess I had that on my chest.
