Your intro chord formations are way easier than it's actually played. I'm actually kinda surprised Monte (old guitarist) didnt play that formation.

Even though its the same chord, it will still sound different on different parts of the neck. And probably the biggest reason is the little hammer on right near the end. When played higher up on the neck like monte does, you can hit it while still keeping your finger placement.
