sourcescience if you look in the walk music video you see that dimebag is playing his tobacco burst ml, that means that he’s playing in D standard according to his interview with guitar world magazine in 1997, the dean from hell was used in standard and drop d, he would have used that on stage if he was using the dime tuning.

@@sourcescience I was going to say the same thing. 432hz not 440. \m/ EDIT: KISS did it too. They loved kiss, could be the inspiration but it's well known E 1/4 tone down, 432hz. Fact.

@NESHMETAL To be fair everyone uses wrong tuning in this song. The song is not in d. You have to have adjustable tuner, set it to 430hz and then tune it. Closest is 1/4 from e flat.

@NESHMETAL OK true. 95% uses the wrong tuning. Even me. I mean I would have to have a guitar only for Pantera then and it would useless to anything else. It's a nice quirk tho and in a tribute band a vital detail.

The only issue I've got with this is that Walk is not a drop D riff. It's standard D. Everyone plays with their own style and technique. Not everyone will play each riff exactly the same and that's what makes guitar so much fun. Adding your own quirk to it is part of the experience.

I can only pick 10 and here they are. - I know there’s already a few videos on youtube similar to this but I originally tried to put this video together back in August of 2016 but got very sidetracked and eventually gave on the video at the time… Anyway I got back into working on it earlier this year after switching a few ideas what riffs should/shouldn’t be in the list I revived the idea and started working on it again and here we are. - It was hard to pick between no. 1 & 2, they are both fun to play/listen to and want to make me tune to drop d more often. - The riffs after the intro in Laid to Rest are in fact not palm-muted… I only realised in the editing process and wasn’t going to change it and film another take.

I think that's why everyone is such a pussy anymore, people are WAY WAY Too sensitive. No one said he sucked, no one said "hey dumbass, get off youtube!"... No, they just gently corrected what was wrong. "Hey that sounded awesome but so and so was a little off"... Being a musician is TOUGH. And Im sure this kid wants to eventually be as good as he can possibly be. So a little gentle constructive criticism is fine. Guitarists have more than enough ego to spare my friend. Trust me. For everybody talking about the Walk riff, Dime does use D Standard for it, but he has also mentioned in a live show for an amp company (can't remember the name) that he uses a guitar set to Drop D for songs like Walk and A New Level. So you're right, but so is he. His riff still sucks though.... Edit: The company was Marshall I do believe.
