The county is allowing deer hunting by Bow this month 3 times a week to thin the heard on county property. You have to have a county permit and I believe that deer stand has to be registered with the county. Great video by the way from a fellow parker😊

@@OutDehFamily hi there. It was my stand/feeder/camera that you came upon during your hike. Thank you for clearing up the mystery, as I was quite curious when I got your picture on camera. As the OP mentioned, I am an official part of the Union County Deer Management Program, which runs from October through mid February. Also, active hunting occurs 5 days/week, not 3 as indicated in the original reply above. I very much appreciate your reaction and steps taken once you discovered you were in an active hunting zone. Thank you for your respectful activity and safe travels! file:///var/mobile/Library/SMS/Attachments/65/05/E1520DF8-A47D-444B-B9D3-A9E473D614B0/IMG_3265.png

Those tags on the tree are from the town forestry management; they're the same folks planting those trees in the floodplain. Great video!

Hi there, Oh that makes sense! thank for clearing up that little mystery. I think folks don't realize how thirsty those trees can get and absorb lots of water. We have a Huge Maple in our yard, we never get water in our basement (a little during IDA, not much) but both of our neighbors next to us do. i always believed that maple keeps our water table at a good lvel. I love those trees. thanks for the kind comment

I like this video and your previous video because you proof that you can make a boring place turn into a nice hiking day , sometimes we think there's nothing fun in this area and we have to travel hours to find nice places but that is not true

Glad you like them. There are 5000 people per sq mile in union county, it’s fun finding spots that people just seem to ignore even though they’re in plain sight !

I grew up in Warren N.J. 35 years ago and went to Watchung hills Regional HS. There are beautiful creeks water falls and cliffs to explore right off of Stiles Rd. The exit for Watchung is right off of 78 . I live in Southern Coastal North Carolina and miss the mountains and creeks . N.J. is just wayyyyy too expensive now a days !

Oh my gosh! My best friend and her family moved from Morrisplains about 10 years ago, she’s in Charlotte. She also hated the cold weather up here since we are both from the Caribbean. We’ve looked into Tennessee on 2 occasions, maybe 3rd time will be the charm right outder dad? 😅

Stiles road? Well we may have to check that out! I hear you on the expensive , that’s why we try to squeeze every penny of value out of living here. We pay a premium to live here. We have seriously considered places like Tennessee. Thanks for checking out channel and the tips

@@OutDehFamily it's a beautiful little road , I lived in the log cabin by the bridge where you would enter the creek . The man that lives there now has totally renovated it and is very friendly. I look forward to all of your adventures to come .

3:13 most likely a sewer pump station, those pipes are for emergencies when the system is overloaded, it bypasses into the stream/river unfortunately. Water treatment infrastructure doesn't grow with the population and can be overwhelmed during storms or if pumps fail.

It's a shame the river is so silted. I remember visting my uncle in Cranford. The river was so deep and rocky. This was in the 70's. Now it's all silted out. Plus the tires and garbage. My dad used to trout fish the Rahway above Diamond Mill Pond. This was before they created the resevoir in the South Mountain Reservation.
@OutDehFamily2 ай бұрын
I wonder if your dad got to fish Brown trout, they evidently can’t survive in the Rahway river any longer. The county stocks rainbow trout , I guess they are more tolerant of the changes
