Escape the Ordinary: Experience the Magic of Pilot Baba Ashram near Kathmandu

Pilot Baba Ashram is commonly known simply as Pilot Baba. It is located in Ghyampe Danda, Anantalingeshwar Bhaktapur. This location is located at an elevation of 1700m (5578 feet). Most visitors come here to enjoy their weekends. This place is fairly close to and easily accessible from Kathmandu Valley.
From Suryabinayak Chowk, an asphalt-paved road leads up to the ashram. This road also passes through deep green forest areas. Fortunately, you may find yourself passing through a forest and enjoying the birds singing while wandering through the dense trees. Since public transportation is not available to the Ashram, you can take a taxi, bike, or private vehicle, or trek up to the location.
The starting point of the hike is a 10-minute walk from the Suryabinayak bus terminal on the Bhaktapur. The hiking trail is not tough, and one is able to reach the destination in about two hours. The hike to the top of the hill offers a breathtaking view of nature. It is surrounded by babbling brooks and trees. Most of the landscape is densely forested, and there is an appealing view of terrace farming. The cool breeze sweeps across the face, filling the path with freshness while offering the spirit a peculiar type of satisfaction.
Entering the temple leads to an open stone-paved yard with a Shikhara-style Shiva shrine known as the Somnath Temple. There is a large meditation hall on the inside. The Ashram's backyard is available to everyone and can be used for relaxation. The serene setting provides a sense of tranquillity, and the journey to the Ashram feels worthwhile.
