You play as Kate, who has recently broken up with her obsessive boyfriend, Liam. However, Liam isn't willing to let her go so easily. After numerous struggles, Kate manages to escape and calls her grandpa for help. Fortunately, he offers her refuge in a mansion. You'd think during the day, with other people around, people like the creep outside wouldn't exist. I've had a guy tell me to get in his car, because a young woman shouldn't be out walking on her own. Middle of Summer, broad daylight, by a bus stop with like ten people there, he kept u-turning and eventually started screaming at me to get in his car. I got his license and taxi cab number and reported him, but didn't hear anything back.

I've also had a similar experience where I was on my way to school in the morning while in HS, and a guy asked (at a bus stop in broad daylight with a few other people around) if I wanted a ride. I said no thanks, and he circled the area a few times waiting to see if the bus would show up. When it didn't, he insisted until another guy at the stop told him to buzz off. We both recorded his license plate and notified the police that he was sketchy, but also never heard back.

Jumpscares were very effective, the game keeps you on edge, lulls you to feel safer during the day, then ramps up the creepiness at night. Plays well into our psyche. Well done.

Not going to lie: I thought from the demo, it was going to turn out that it was her grandpa that was stalking her, and that's why he told her to go to his house, because he had secret rooms he could keep her in, and that Liam would actually help her, realise his mistakes.

Most women seem painfully unaware of how strong they are. I am a martial artist of more than 10 years training (Kali Silat, Aikido, Thai Chi, Chines Spear and Long Stick, European Medieval Fencing..). I have a lot of respect for women and anyone smaller than me (6.1 feet, 186 cm), and I mean from the danger they can pose to me. However, it takes very long to convince women of their power that I know they have. You can so easily break an arm or a rip of anyone even if they have twice your weight. Even if you are untrained I can never know what you are going to do. Movies and games always suggest this magical attacker - which is important for horror - but that's not reality. Some of my training partners about 160cm (5.2 feet) women used to throw me around like nothing. Also: Women and gay guys tend to throw a specific inneficient punch. Learn how not to take away your actual strength. The ellbow shouldn't be crossing your line of sight before your hand does. The Silat Slap is what you want to look at ( Urban Silat - The Power of the Slap shows it quite well on youtube, I learned in Ulm mostly). Sorry, I can't help but giving unrequested tips when I feel for someone being scared. I myself have complex PTSD from childhood emotional neglect (and psychogenic seizures because of this since my late 30s). I guess I wish everyone would feel at least physically safe.

Story time. This game gave me the creeps because… When I went to a university in the Pacific Northwest area, I worked as a pharmacy tech. There was a very tall man that would often come late at night since the town I was in literally had one Main Street and a single light. He would wait outside the store staring through the windows at me and would come in and give me a story about how he was lonely and just wanted to go grab coffee with me. He made me freeze instantly because there was something sinister about him. He followed me home back to my apartment and I ended up calling the cops. They couldn’t find his whereabouts. Few weeks later, a woman came into the pharmacy and told me that some man had spoken to her too. This time, she caught his name from someone else. This man terrified me for years. Fast forward to 12 years later, I moved to a small town in the southwest region. He walked into my work. He was wearing a mask since it was mandated then in 2020… He took his mask off and told me how beautiful I looked. My face went pale and he began to walk around the lobby. I quickly told a coworker that I needed to go. I ran into my car screaming and crying. That was not a coincidence. For 12 years I was terrified of him, and he was in the SAME TOWN as I in a completely different state. I went to the police station and filed a report and the lady officer told me that it’s usually a coincidence because this town is a place for retired old folk. Plus they told me I had to have 3 instances or run ins with him before I could get a restraining order. I don’t know the laws in this town, but I’m still terrified. I’ve seen him around here and there and avoid him immediately.

Typically, you probably don’t wanna turn all the lights on in a situation like this. You’re basically televising to everyone who’s nosey enough that the house isn’t as empty as it should be. And in her position, I’d want as few people as possible to know where I am, and that I’m alone. Park the car around back where no one’s gonna see it. She basically broadcasted her arrival.

There was so much wrong with the situation. Even with not calling the police, like you said.m: never give hints. Telling randoms she’s new in town is super unsafe as well. But I know people like that and it can get you into some bother.

Honestly, I appreciated how clever the main character was in MOST of the scenarios. When she realized things were going south, she tried to leave, contacted the police, got a flashlight, tried to arm herself, even in the case of calling Liam, unrealistic as that was, she had the reasoning of "At least it'd be SOME protection from whoever this might be." She did everything she could to stay safe, and that goes a long way towards helping the story feel believable in some manner. Props to the solo dev! For as basic as it was, it was an effective outing! I hope to see more from them in the future!

It was creepy but I can't help but put on my big-wig "Uhm, acksually," glasses; it was too coincidental that everything just fell into place. Spoilers! How did the Cashier also have a direct connection to Kate's grandpa's home? How did Liam find Kate? If the police came during the first 911 call, why didn't they actually talk to her and get a statement? (Like I know it's cause indie dev, saves on time and money etc. etc.) How'd the cashier guy get around the house so silently, we know there's a trap door, but other than that, no secret bookcases all over (and that the grandpa, who'd been living there for we can suppose a long time, doesn't know about the tunnels or the secrets around and in his house!). Why were the cops waiting at the entrance of the secret tunnel entrance instead of combing the house, Kate wasn't gone that long, her grandpa would not have been able to arrive AND call the cops AND have them arrive in the time she was walking in a straight line in the tunnel. I just think the writing was really bad. The game's "fine", but the writing and actual plot really brought it down for me. I was thinking (from the demo) that her grandpa was in on it and that this was some sort of cult town, and that Kate was the new sacrifice or something. And maybe, Liam's part of her grandpa's inner circle. It's pretty cliche, but what we got was.. well it was just kinda bland and amateur I felt like. (I was scrolling through your older vids because this reminds me of an old game you played. The Ritual on Weylyn Island. I was hoping this game was gonna take a turn like that game. I've been watching your content for 10+ years! )😸😸😸

After watching the demo, I didn't expect much from this game. I'm so glad they listened and made it a little more believable, and the story with the missing woman was a cool twist to the story. The jumpscares were very effective. I'm pleasantly surprised how well it turned out. Good job!

This is not bad at all and I felt unease at times but I think the demo was much scarier. Yes, the developer fixed a lot in the beginning in the logical sense but it sort of lost its charm along the way (like the weird stuff in the basement and I think the cashier was creepier in the demo). I also feel like the game was influenced by Parasocial by Chilla's Art quite a lot. Like, Liam hiring the guy to scare Kate so she would turn to him for safety (including the option to call the boyfriend...I wonder if it lead to a similar ending), Kate being photographed while taking the bath, receiving creepy messages from unknown number. I just feel that in the demo the developer was going for something else but it's just the vibe I am getting I wish it explored the abusive stalker boyfriend angle and not the generic mansion setup with notes on a wall and a family tragedy. I don't feel that horror games utilize that concept enough, fear of being actually stalked by the person you know

I will admit the game did make me jump a few times which is pretty rare, for a short game that is not asking much its definitely not that bad. But my biggest issue in the game was its story, namely there where aspects and character decisions that made no since, other then so the events in the game would happen.

yeah the protag made poor decision all the time but i think in reality there are lots of young women outthere who are too naive and lack of awareness plus the anxiety, panic and fear just made them become irrational. when i was younger and had no damn clue about how dangerous this world is esp to women, i probably couldnt think of whats supposed to do if this happens to me. i remember giving too much personal infos to online drivers without feeling wary about it bc i thought they’re just being friendly - but who knows.

I will give the dev credit, it did quite a few twists! Helped keep the game stressful, since you never knew who exactly was trustworthy. Not quite the mindbend that Parasocial pulled off, but quite nice in its own fashion.
