Karl excellent description. I suspect you have comments similar to to mine. I have eliminated the power converter and use the chassis for a power distribution panel. My DC charging comes from solar , inverter and alternator . I use a renogy solar and alternator charger a single unit. My inverter is also a 12V charger which feeds the 12V system and my lithium batteries. I have eliminated a lot of wiring . My battery BMS system gives me health and capacity of themselves on my phone by blue tooth. Hope to see you next year. Tom

Thanks Karl. I’d like to use 2 6AMP lead acid batteries and a solar panel to recharge them. How many additional Ah will the solar provide to the batteries and how long will it take the solar panel to recharge the lead acid batteries? Thanks

Hi Paul, Zamp ports are wired with a reverse polarity as compared to aa typical SAE port. Therefore, you would need to ensure that the panel you purchase is either Zamp-compliant, or has an adapter to reverse the polarity. Hope this helps. -Harrison@Escape

@@takeyourescape thanks Harrison, Karl seemed to indicate there was some advantage... I worked on some British cars as a kid, and I recall their DC was wired reverse of US cars. Don't know if it is still the case, but I am wondering what advantage the Zamp wiring would have over what I'll call "normal"???

@@berthaduniverse Hi Paul, I think I erred slightly in the description. The Zamp port is polarity protected that means the positive pin is set back and covered to prevent accidental contact that could damage your panel, short your battery, or give you a pretty nasty shock. So, because of the polarity protection Zamp Solar ports are only compatible with Zamp Solar SAE plugs. Karl@Escape

Excellent video! Put things into practical terms. Noticed that the batteries across the entire product line will now be installed, effectively, inside the trailer. Is this for (lithium) freeze protection as well as simplification of design or???? I guess there's still a boatload of LiFePO4 batteries out there for which the BMS does not prevent charging in below freezing temperatures. Thanks in advance.

I like the Lithium advantages but am bothered that they are not currently recycleable and just become toxic waste at end of life. I'm curious, why are AGM batteries not offered or mentioned? Sorry if I missed it explained in the video...

Hi Tom, Correct, you'll have 110V coming in from the shorepower connection, so no need for an inverter when hooked up. -Harrison@Escape
