Escaping Girona for the Tenerife Sun

Girona is known for its ‘otherworldly cycling’, but when winter arrives, temperatures plummet and you’ve got to log another 70,000m of vert after a bout of ilness, a trip to the Canary Islands in search for that summer sun is just what’s needed.
We had this trip booked for a while, but it couldn’t have come at a better time in the year!!
The vert hunt is very much real as the end of my 1,000,000m challenge nears ever closer. With a need for two double everesting weeks, a change of scenery, warmer conditions and good vibes, we gladly snuck off to Tenerife to see exactly what all the hype was about.
This is what climbing wall’s really looks like…Tenerife is a cycling paradise!!

Yeah I'm with you on the cold, I don't miss NZ winters one bit, here in the Philippine cordillera it's shortsleeve weather and rarely gets below 10 degrees C and I have a 30km climb right outside my door...

Despite the epic Canarian scenery and your outsized heart, drive and Watts, it was the two cameos at 3.15 and 4.40 that had me seeing stars... the iconic white paper bags of... la puntual! Tell me that you've tried his pastís de ratafia (ca.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ratafia)?! A PED in slices... Seriously Flow-state inducing. Upwards and onwards, Jack... Hey Jack, it’s a great spot to live. I find being in the Centre of town you have no privacy, but if you live a stones through away like we do, it’s just magic. Keep me posted if you move mate!
