Yeonmi, I don’t think it can be overstated just how important you are. You’re a beacon of light in a dark world. I have to say, I’m embarrassed to share a country with the petulant, narcissistic, man-children who’ve marginalized and dismissed you, but, I know none of them could ever or will ever stop you. I hope you know there are more Americans who respect and admire you than those who love themselves before anything and anyone else. We’re never out of the fight, you’re an inspiration and I know that when my daughter gets older, that she’ll look to you with the same admiration I do, so, thank you for that. God bless you.

Not quite, because North Korea is a dictatorship. The American Left is authoritarian, but they don't have ONE megalomaniacal narcissist who demands the people's allegiance to himself personally. Left-wing authoritarianism relies on intimidation so that people self censor out of fear of punishment, not from a dictator, but from the mob.

@@TinyMK1 I don’t understand all of this either but I doubt there are “thousands” of new pronouns. There’s already too many for me. Ppl just need to be reasonable and push back and challenge some of this thinking and to also be open to understanding the problems and issues that have been raised. I am also quite well traveled, and I feel when she says: "its literally the best country in human history" that is where Yeonmi could simply stand firm. I feel that we as Americans need to hear from her how this horrible catastrophic regime (maybe the worst in recent and current "history") should be liberated. It rubs me the wrong way because it is really a detour that distracts from the bottom line. Bottom line is that since the parts of America that are outstanding are America's ingenuity in ways to help others in very very desperate situations, why fan the spark of paranoia? I can't say anything more than that.

Yeonmi's story has became a permanant part of my consciousness since I read her book several years ago. Diamonds can't march her clear and unique perspective on undeserved suffering. I don’t even know how to respond to Yeonmi’s story because it is so special that she survived her many ordeals. I have travelled extensively throughout the Far East, including South Korea and the obligatory visit to the DMZ. I have great respect for the different cultures in these regions and realise that they have historical good and bad points. Yeonmi has observed the fake victim hood fir what it is, but I’m afraid that its supporters really have no idea what real oppression is. I wish Yeonmi and her new family a successful and happy life. Another milestone for Megyn’s integrity as an honest Jane reporter.

It's obvious she's lying. There is no evidence of what she is talking about, much less living in North Korea. Everything that she voices is described in the tabloid press in South Korea, they like to exaggerate and defame their neighbor. There are also a lot of lies about China. Some patterns and stereotypes. And the pearl was the story about the Gobi desert and the sale into slavery. I understand that it is well bought, apparently there are plans to stage the film.

I’m literally speechless right now, one moment I’m sobbing at the thought of the horrendous lives some people are currently living (if you can call it living) and Yeonmi’s story; and the next I’m terrified at the insights Yeonmi has of America today (and where America goes the UK invariably follows). Megyn handled the interview brilliantly with sincerity and genuine warmth. The survivors that I talked to opened my eyes to the depths of evil that humans can visit on each other. THERE IS TRUE EVIL LOOSE IN OUR WOLRD. And I could not do anything. Megyn, thank you so much for sharing this brave young woman’s story with the world. As someone born in the 1970’s who grew up in the 80’s and 90’s; if you had asked me if the type of living hell this woman has described seeing and experiencing in North Korea and China could exist in any other country, I would have said that it was not likely. And certainly it would never be possible in the United States of America. But today, in post Covid-19 America where The Great Reset agenda and the delusional narrative of Klaus Schwab and other like minded people who are pushing this New World Order and one world government, the possibility of the world she describes escaping from now seems not only a possibility for America but exactly the future we’re destined to experience unless we make drastic changes very soon. My greatest fear is that too many of us who grew up in a world without the internet have forgotten the freedom that’s possible without being connected to the world 24/7/365. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of the world being exposed to the reality of what she lived through so that we can not only put a stop to it as we did in Nazi Germany but learn from her experiences so we are not doomed to repeat it.

This was such an eye opening interview! As Americans, we need to respect what freedom really means. I commend this beautiful woman for her amazing bravery and wish her true happiness, and freedom for her future! May God be with those who remain in North Korea and keep them safe! I wish I knew the answer on how to free the people in N. Korea, China, etc... These regime's will eventually fall...they all do! ⚘️

This is horrendous. How can human beings be so cruel. Americans need to hear this but it is traumatic. Imagine that we are not living this but just hearing it is so disturbing. I can’t even the pain of this experience, yet it speaks to the retaliated spirit of a human being to keep going. Incredible !!!!!!

dude. most people are idios. its OUR BRAINS THAT ARE CAUSING US TO SUFFER. our brain functions on a law that "good cannot exist without bad". this means anytime you experience good, you WILL experience bad (mental pain such as depression, anxiety, stress, anger) in the same amounts in the same amounts and strength and vice versa. she will spend some time in america and realize that moving to america didnt solve her problems. the devil was inside her head the entire time. most people come up with stupid solutions in solving the problem. the ONLY way to get rid of the devil inside your head is with brain implant chips that can shock certain neurons that can make you normal, happy, and focused. otherwise your just gonna suffer wtih the law in your head

Yeonmi is one of the best Americans we have. I adore her. I hope you invite Lily Tang Williams on for an interview. She is from China & is now another great American. Don’t give in to people that try to tell you what to say & think. I would rather live in a tent in the desert than to put up with all the woke garbage.

I second Lily Tang Williams! Not to simplify her at all because to talk about her would require something like an MK interview as you suggested, but all I gotta say: Lily is a fire cracker and pistol! We so so need these individuals to help bring this nation back to what it was before. P.S. Before = pre-Obama. I voted for him the first time. Regretted that. An optimistic Republican today.

Every person who believes everyone should be equal, have free medical, free utilities, free, free, free should have to hear this beautiful, inspiring woman’s story and her feelings about what America is going to become if we, as American Citizens continue to allow this craziness! Thank you for interviewing her so we all can hear her amazing story!! May God continue to wrap his loving arms around you and your family Yeonmi! We have a family in our community, similar circumstances, the husband carried his wife 100s of miles to freedom. It’s so enlightening to listen to a young woman who loves this country as much as I do!

I grew up in Soviet Union. There is nothing to be compared between Soviet Union and North Korea . I don’t even know what that means “ their eyes are dead” . Sadly, listening to this story, it looks like most of Americans have dead brain. Very scary what’s going on in this country.
