5:02 - “Always put yourself in bad positions in training, so you know how to work out of those.” Very sound wisdom to learn the easy way, and a lesson I’ve always applied to my rolls in the past.

That last escape is what I needed. I've been able to trap the ankle but never knew what to do next. I am always learning from you, and I appreciate all of your content. It's cool how I'll pickup a thing or two rolling, then after watching yours and others videos have a more complete systematic approach. Thanks again!

i was listening to the ufc matches from london yesterday (my tv service was turned off after DISH was hacked and it resulted in a dispute with my account, honestly no fault of my own so i said, screw it, i'll keep it off and save the $130.00 or so a month)...and one of the earlier matches it was "your winner, as a result of an arm-triangle..." i immediately thought of the escapes from this video. i myself was screwed out of competition with a serious medical issue. each day i spend about 15 minutes meditating upon jiu-jitsu moves and pressure pt techniques just as a mental exercise.

Great escapes! It is better to try these escapes. as soon as you feel the arm triangle be applied?
@KnightJiuJitsu4 жыл бұрын
Each has its place as far as early or late, but I think trying to avoid and escape as early as possible is most always a good thing.

Thank you so much for the advice at the end. I am not a very competitive person when it comes to training but never thought of putting myself in a bad position to work from there. I have question that is kinda related to that. I have this one guy in class who just wants to win every roll and we have been training for a very long time together and since he is on the heavier side he did so in the beginning but now being a little more experienced I'm starting to see more and more openings because he is relying on his strength more than actual techniques so what should I do? Let him win so it won't hurt his ego or exploit on his weakness?
@theparodymonster14 жыл бұрын
100% go for the openings you see. If he cant handle losing he shouldnt be doing jujutsu

Same ways still apply. Jason was just being nice to me while I talk, and belly flat down is much harder because you’re late, but these still apply
