Escaping The Daily Grind Of Van Life Travel In Europe
Snow and Curt are seasoned full time van life travelers, but sometimes the road can get overwhelming. When that happens, this vanlife couple has learned that the best thing to do is just stop. So, that is what they did... at a farm in the middle of Northern Italy! And they met up with some fellow van life travelers that are also from the States!

This is not a comment on this video, that comes next. This is about you both personally. I'm sure I speak for others but sometimes people need to know how much joy they bring to others. You have taken us places, shown us people, taught us histories and shown all of us how beautiful the world really is. I think the key element with you both is respect. You always have a positive respect for your subscribers, the people and places you go and most importantly, you have that for each other. I have really had a hard time this last year and there have been times I just became hopeless. Traveling vicariously with you has reminded me, time and time again, that it's not dark for everyone. Just knowing that there is a beautiful light outside helps me to hold on. I can never thank you enough. You really mean the world to me.❤

Going on the toll roads is like driving on the interstate- you see nothing. Hopefully you can get off on more rural roads so you experience the villages. Parking would probably be easier to park and walk too. Love this campground!

I guess you do save money on gas though- not sure how it works out with the tolls. Why don't you do a smaller area in depth as Europe is so expensive

Love Curt’s grocery shopping! I marvel that he fit it all in! I have that problem in a house. I need a pantry! So any hints you can give me in a video of how to store food in an RV would make a good video if you are up to it!!! Love the tunnel system you are encountering! Sad you have to pay tolls and high gas prices and missing the up, close, and personal ventures. Love Italy! The farm scene you shared in this video was wonderful to hear the birds singing hunting rabbits! Love the peace and quiet, birds singing and more beautiful sunsets! Kittie trails are lovely to walk with you! Love, until next time! Jojo❤

Buongiorno Snow and Curt ☀️ I think it must be Curt's love of cooking that makes him so happy checking out each new country's grocery stores, I'm the same way. I love seeing all the different types of cheeses and local fruits and vegetables. As my hubby says, "I'm like a kid in a candy store". I'm really impressed you were able to get all those groceries into your tiny home. 😮 Snow, I can't wait to see what you've planned next. Especially if you can get your van on the smaller roads through the villages. It was one of my favourite parts of your drive throughout the Americans, getting small glimpses into the locals everyday lives. I hope you're looking after yourself, you were sounding a bit 'breathy" earlier in the video and I was hoping it was just from a quick walk 🤞 How amazing to be able to share a delicious meal with fellow travelers in a new country. Take care and safe travels, 🤗🇨🇦

I think the thing that surprises me most is that the land is basically the same as what you see in the US. Central and South America were so different being very tropical. I guess it never dawned on me that Europe would be much the same as the US. I've never been off the US mainland so therefore I'm pretty ignorant of the rest of the world. So it's mainly the architecture of it is different in Europe because it's a much older bunch of countries than here and that's where the uniqueness lays is in the architecture and history. This spot was very nice and I loved the facility that afforded you the chance to do laundry, shower and cook and dine with friends. 🥂

Im 62 and was doing these drives back in the 80;s and understand that it's easy to gravitate to the main highways but as you say, you miss out on all that village life that is the culture. Those highways are big time all over europe. You gotta slow down otherwise it just becomes a big blur. Be prepared to immerse otherwise there was no point in selling your mansion in Florida. People say they went here and went there but all of five minutes so you wonder and question how much of the culture was really taken in. Slow down and chill. Loved your brazilian adventures. In europe your might find an eagle family living in an ancient clock tower in the middle of a very busy city .

Great video as usual😊. I am sure you will enjoy your planned route inItaly. Cinque Terre is abeautiful place, too bad you want see it in summertime. As for Florence, be aware that driving with the van in there will be a disaster, small roads and hardly any chance to park. parking houses clise to town rip you off (50-80 Euro) for a few hours. better off to park outside and take public transport in. good luck😊 we’ll be watching you!!

You guys are already having a lot of fun in Italy I see, our favorite country in Europe. Cinque Terre was one of our greatest vacation destinations ever. We stayed in Riomaggiore for six days, the one of the five in the bottom south and walked through each and every one of them through the mountains. We were simply in a state of awe for such a great adventure. Vernazza is one of greatest cute places we have ever been for its extreme peculiarity. Manarola is also very pretty and Monte Rosso al Mare wide open and also very pretty. Corniglia not so much. A trip through all of them by ferry, except Corniglia is a great deal as well. I’m sure you guys will have a lot of fun in Cinque Terre. Not far from there two other places are absolutely unmissable: Siena and Luca. Good luck and have a lot of fun in your trip throughout Europe.

That grocery store and farm makes me want to go build a little cabin there to retire! I love to cook, so I shared your excitement Curt! 😃 I really appreciate your videos. One thought to put things in perspective for the cost of tolls to drive on really nice roads. Add up your toll cost and compare it to the cost of repairs you need to do driving the van on the very rough roads in the Americas.😊 Glad to see you are out of the snow and enjoying some blue skies! Hi Snow and Curt. I follow two You Tubers who make their home in Italy and good food is a priority for them, no junk food in their homes. If you get a chance to eat at a gas station the meals there are prepared just like home, delicious and reasonable. Curt you have found the perfect country for your love of seafood, hope Snow gives it a chance as fish is full of heart healthy Omega's. Fresh seafood is so much better than stuff we get in the stores in North America Snow. Smart taking the time to recharge after your change of countries, learning to navigate all the new rules and being sick. Great Elmer Fudd inpression Curt 🙂 Awesome looking meal Kurt, nice to have friends to share it with. The cake would be so good in the morning with a strong cup of coffee. One of my Italian You Tubers are in Turin at the moment and the other in Tuscany. Normally they are in Sicily and Positano. Will be nice to see Italy through your lens. Take care road nerds. Really enjoyed this video the rest did you both good. Hugs❤🌷 ps. Snow in Italy breakfast is always a pastry with coffee. Delicious homemade pastry not hot pockets, haha. I use to cringe when that was your breakfast, so happy you have moved on from that.

I am so glad you raised the matter of missing so much culture and countryside by using the big toll roads. I had been lamenting this privately because having spent 13 years over there, I can tell you - every square inch has centuries of history. Hi y’all, the grocery store brought back memories from living in Italy for over a year when my husband was in the Navy. We went to the commissary but I found Italian grocery stores were such a great place to get things and just look. While the fleet was out we, (wives) went touring around. I loved it. Rome was the only airport for international travel so we were there for that and just to see the sights. I had a German VW beetle with AFI plates (American Forces Italy) so I didn’t pay tolls but fun! I loved it there!!! Wait till you find things like shoe alley . Streets with outdoor markets that you can bargain with vendors. Always bargain with vendors!!!

Hi guys, I was wondering why you were not taking the smaller and free roads in Europe like you did in Brazil. If you select in the Google Maps to avoid tolls, it will normaly offer you a nicer route. I did that driving in the north of Italy. Be sure to make the contour of the Lago di Garda, passing through the beautiful little towns around it like Sirmione, the Castle of Pastrengo that has a nice pizza place inside... Enjoy Italy!!

That’s my favorite thing to do as well when in a new country. Go to their grocery stores and see what selection they have. I like to watch people checking out as well and guess what they will be making with those ingredients. I lived with two different families in Italy teaching their kids conversion English. They both started the dinner with pasta the same way we start a lot of dinners with a salad first. One family had a full time cook who made the most delicious and healthy dinners. I skipped the pasta so I would have room for the healthy stuff. There are so many fishes available in the markets that are not available in the US. I love fish so it was always a treat to see fish on the dinner table.

Hi guys. I always let the commercials play through in hopes that helps differ some of your daily cost. How’s the transition from one continent to another going? Keep in mind you two went from sunshine, fresh air, mild weather, fresh fruit/food,plenty of daily exercise to overcast, cold, rainy weather and heavy fatty, carb loaded, sugary foods. Also a faster pace of life. So give yourselves some grace with the adjustment and try to find that perfect zone that fits you guys. Cheers!

Just set your GPS for no tolls. You'll hit the coastal roads. Be patient with the mountains, and you'll see so much beauty. We avoid tolls as much as possible, our Peugeot Boxer is Italian made and gets about 30 mph, but we prefer to spend the euros on diesel, not the very lovely, much needed tolls. 😊 great video, looking forward to when you hit Portugal. I LOVED this episode. Viva Italia! I can't wait to see what else you get into. My favorite thing in Rome (which is exorbitantly expensive btw!) was walking the Appian Way at sunrise. There are no tourists then. It is stunningly gorgeous. And to think it is 2000 years old! Cheers!

We are heading to Spain Thursday Jan 25 and I think we need to go to Italy next year, I love it already! So good to see you having a great time in a grocery store Curt! Safe travels!💕🇨🇦

I'm glad you're going to Bari and taking the ferry. I've been house hunting in Umbria and between Bari and Brindisi so I'll be very interested to hear how it goes with the ferry. You're having way too much fun! Suzi

Hey Snow and Curt! Thanks for taking me along on your adventures. Great that you had that nice farm stay with a kitchen and were able to host another couple for dinner. Must feel good to do that sort of normal thing once in a while. Italy is just gorgeous. I can't wait until you go to cinque terra as I have been there a few years back. Safe travels!

I love it when y'all nerd out about roads. I put the Clifton suspension bridge in Bristol UK on my must see list when I visited because roads and bridges are cool.

I’m not a person who likes heat so I assumed I wouldn’t enjoy Italy at all, but my favourite city was Florence & Venice was close behind that. The coffee, the food, the shopping & the wine wasn’t bad either😂 Thanks for having us on these wonderful vlogs of yours😁❤️

I’ve wondered what an agriturismo was like - I stayed in a “Sanctuario in the hills above the Cinque Terre and hiked between the 5 towns above the sparkling Mediterranean, past lemon and olive groves - very cool. Trail is a bit steep in places (and full of tourists from all over) but when you get tired you can just hop a train back. You will love it.
