Not sure if someone's mentioned this already but a lot of this mods music was made by Harry101UK, an absolute staple in Portal history. He's most well known for his Portal parody songs. This Is Aperture, The Wheatley Song, Detatch The Wheatley Core, Defective, If I Were A Core, etc. Checking them out is basically a rite of passage at this point.. His Wheatley impression is incredible, and he's perfected the GLaDOS filter as well. This was looong before AI voices were a thing and they sound so much better.. Highly recommend. He also made the "Meet The Cores" videos, which give the other cores like Adventure Core and Fact Core so much more personality. His videos are what I mainly remember them from since the actual game did so little with them.. Yeah this games music is great for a reason.

Yass, I've been waiting for this for a long time. I've replayed this game couple of times, and every time I'm getting stuck on something. The difficulty curve is insane but very satisfying. You though might need even harder puzzles to be impressed... Love that they added some hidden doors with Cave Johnson lines, IT makes this part of the game feel even more similar to Portal 2's underground chapter, they got that Vibe right. And its still funny! 16:05 well, its aperture science ad and we know they like to bend the truth a little, so who knows... I personally always imagined mantis men the way you described and like to think that Aperture just advertises them as much more pleasant that they actually are Goddamn, there's so much new art in this game that you can completely bypass but it actually adds to the lore. Didnt notice there was so much of it during my first playthrough. 22:28 I like that you noticed this. This is a core (hehe) difference between those two, Virgil seems to be more thoughtfull of the arrangment you have with him and he actually thinks about stuff... At least a little. I like that they didn't just reskin Wheatley and gave Virgil kind of a different Vibe. More to come! Oh yes, developers went hard with the puzzles here. They were infamously hard at launch, in fact so much that they added a story mode with easier ones in one of the first patches lol. But for a portal veteran, those original puzzles are a treat. Imo level above Portal 2 in terms of difficulty and creativeness, just what my brain needed! Amazing work from the dev team ...and as usual you're breezing through those chambers. It feels like your brain was made for portal puzzles lol 41:14 ...yeah, this is totally something Aperture would say lol Glad you love it so far, cant wait to see you react to some stuff in the story!

Wheatley’s betrayal still hurts. We all feel your pain. I’m glad you are giving Virgil a chance though. Some Portal fans go into every mod expecting all the AIs to be the same. I’m not sure why because even within the canon games, that’s just not true. I mean a healthy dose of scepticism and wariness is fair because all the core were made by Aperture. However, they each have their own personality, aims, strengths and weaknesses. They aren’t just carbon copies for each other. Well done on finding the door that doesn’t go anywhere and that Virgil tells you to ignore. I didn’t find it on my first play though. No, Virgil did not make that room. That line was the mods - rather than Virgil - patting themselves on the back. It always makes me smile. You will get to meet Virgil next time

fun fact: portal takes place in the half-life universe! also, when you finish half-life you should play the expansions; opposing force, blue shift and decay. opfor and bshift can be bought on steam. but decay was exclusive to the PS2. you can still play it through a mod on pc. probably the best half-life mods are they hunger, afraid of monsters, half-life echoes and half-life field intensity.

I can definitely see it! Honestly just playing through the game, I see no difference than Portal 2 which is already a compliment in itself.
