I love the ending where he got eaten. It shows how the little shiny thing, which is passion, which turns into perfectionism, demanding the best from urself, gets bigger with want and skill and then in the end when it eats the human, we realize that this thing is us. Like i love the closure it gave to the whole story❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Ya, true, I have seen something similar happen to me, over the period of time (few month or so), you cannot see anything else apart from feeding that feeling or idea or things, it never gets enough, unless your body drops sick or something, it will not go. Because we are trained to be like we should not give up, even positivity can lead to complete burnout. You need to keep changing your priorities regularly. Really, well said and conveyed in a simple short video. Thank you for making this one, I did have a reflection back to some of my old days.

This animation is so smooth and amazing!! You really represented how burn out feels and the way it slowly forms. Keep up the great work :D

I really wonder, since I feel like I've always taken my passion for music lightly, so as not to get sick of it and end up losing interest in it, whats it like for people who have done the exact opposite and experienced burnout? did you come back from it? did it make you lose some of the love you had for your passion? did you get better eventually and came out with a new perspective about yourself and your craft?
@isishanford543714 күн бұрын
I was wondering if other people choose to take their passions lightly for these reasons! That's my case with drawing, I choose not to make it my job, and now it's really one of the things that brings me calm and happiness (and I still want to improve but with any time I need). I have another passion for writing, wanted to be a writer and took cinema writing studies, but less than one year in I ended up quitting. Didn't really experience burn out, but pressure to create and competition above all. I stopped writing for 2 years and felt really guilty about giving up on my dream. Now I think I came back to writing on a much lighter way. I'm so proud of myself for overcoming writer's block that I don't really care if my writing is bad, but in the end, I know I waisted some potential by not doing sacrifices for writing. I don't know which is better but for now, I rather preserve my mental health!

I don’t think it is about passion or mastering consuming us, but not succeeding in doing what we love. The little flame represents disappointment which can easily kill us if we spend our lives waiting for society's approval to finally feel we matter, we are someone to them caring less about being someone for ourselves.

This is fantastically brilliant as it not also displays the harmful side effect of wanting to the BEST content creator within the algorithm BUT it also shows the importance of taking a break and coming back to something later

Burnout from Perfectionism and overwork
@ThePossimpibler12 күн бұрын
I can only provide my own interpretation. The person starts to draw out of passion (the little flame) and enjoyed it. But passion couldn't get enough of his work and wanted to "consume" more than he could create. He couldn't recover from his work and also - at least partly influenced by social media - he wanted to do it perfectly. Some people in the comment section write that passion turned into perfectionism. It may be like that, in any case the flame gets too big and eats him. He is then burnt out and doesn't have anything more to give. His creativity and passion turned into something that left him empty. The sirens could mean that he jumped out of the window. I hope this makes it clearer for you 😊
