i love how this doesn’t just talk about how getting low grades is sometimes by choice and that we can do better most of the time, but it also talks abt the addiction to academic validation, when he kept pushing and pushing himself like nothing else mattered cuz it just feels THAT good to a get a great grade, also love how you portrayed just how unhealthy it can be

sigh. this is what I try to tell my parents. It’s almost as if they want this. They force me to study. Coming home and studying for school AND an algebra class 4 grades ahead of me? Not enough. I play games for 10 minutes? They’re planning to move somewhere without my friends. No social life. No calling. No texting. I can’t even play and practice my piano for my recital the same week. No, I can’t go to my best friends birthday party that I’ve been friend with for over 8 years. No, I can’t be too social. I have to study. I cry everyday. Thank you for this video. It really shows me what I can expect to lose.

that's literally just child abuse and it has severe charges. it's considered child neglect, depriving you from social life, which ends up in depression and just overall terrible behaviour. you can report it to the police to see if they'll take any kind of action, and of course if you get hit or just get some kind of negative symptom or whatever, that's just additional evidence. obviously you need to do research on whether or not the stuff they're doing to you is considered child neglect and what the charges and consequences are in your country.

I want to stop, I really do, but I can’t. This short film resonated with me on such a level. It’s hard to break the cycle once it starts, but this has shown me that it’s possible and has given me some hope. Thank you so much for this.

To be serious this time, I've been seeing this in my recommended page for a while. I thought it would be some motivational speech like those "If you're under 21 you need to watch this" videos, but I got something entirely different. This kind of hit me like a truck. I love the references you put in here, and the distorted music as you delve deeper into the narrative, distancing yourself to focus more-it hits very close to home. It's eye-opening to see it from a spectator's perspective. Thank you, Ilo. Even if this was just for a school project, it's really, really well-made.

You have to love study, Leo every minute with it; it's not motivation, discipline, or hard work! Studying should be your love. I study because I am hungry to gain infinite knowledge, not to pass with great grades.Do the thing you love, because in life our regrets comes just because we couldn't be that happy we wanted to be. Happiness is the aim, it's the passion. That's why, people who are scientists are those who love studying. They draw their 'hunger for knowledge' as the painting of curiosity on the canvas of 'Life'.

I love the very way this was written out. Right now, I am in my freshmen year, regretting taking such hard classes (precalculus honors 😒) and sometimes I see the very things this video is showing reflected in my own life and the people around me. Not only that but since my school is so competitive everyone is trying to take every club and competition. It leaves a lot of us lost and feeling like we're not worth as much as the kids with higher grades and such. In conclusion I just wanted to say this is EXTREMELY underrated and I liked your take on grades and their effect on the mental health of students. I also wanted to say that if you're currently in high school or college and feel like this as well then remember that a lot of us are on the same boat and your grades don't really matter in the real world, so just chill 😘😘

Everything only got better when I realized how suck it would be to be in this kind of situation. I changed my mindset, I took every spare time that I have to spend with my loving friend, calling for my family more, doing more activity outside of studying like exercise, meeting new friends and sometime even playing video game with them. My gpa is not at the top any more but I feel like I can see some butterfly now in my life.
