Cortina mk1 diff width is about 47in wide, great to fit 7.5in wheels. Anglia are approx 4in less than Escort

Just a note on Cortina English axles... Many years ago, I got in contact with a guy from the old Boreham staff, and he tipped me on the early Lotus Cortinas... Apparently they had light alloy caseings! Now, I don't think they'd stand up to stage rallying, but for a lightweight, small engined fast road/sprint car....

Thanks for stopping by. The options are endless really, even more so if you’re handy with a welder, you could make any live axle fit really. Are you building one?

Keep going mate, I’m one step behind you on your vids with mine, I can’t do the ECU mount tho as I haven’t bought it yet , il have to fab something up after paint I think but might weld couple of inserts in that area anyway and work from that at later date 👍

Excellent. Keep up the work. You can defiantly weld some brackets on. If you use them you can make the bracket at a later date, if you don’t use them it’s no hardship. I think it’s nicer than drilling into a freshly painted bulk head to put something through. I’ve tried to limit the holes to the outside world from within the car, gotta keep that corona out. 😂.

Great video really informative and helpful although I wonder if (in your upcoming axle videos) you may be able to shed some light on what size/length half shafts need to be used for each size of axle? I’ve researched this a lot but cannot seem to find a definitive answer without some guesswork involved. Many thanks

Thanks Kristian, half shafts are something I’ve managed to dodge so far, my axle came with new shafts installed and I’ve not touched them yet. It’s certainly an area I’m keen to know more about so I’ll have a dig around and see what I can discover. 👍🏻.

@@noideabuilds9248 can you do a vid on how you change the bearings over on an axle? I do them the dodgy way with grinder and chisel until it gives in lol.
