ESEE 4: The Last Knife You'll Ever Need

I have Kershaw, Cold Steel, Gerber, Mora, etc - SO many nice blades, but the ESEE 4 just *feels* so right.

I started off with the number 6, but it's a bit too long for general purpose. The Esee 4 is perfect for me and it is very easy to maintain with a 6-in honing Steel. The thing is I don't need it for woodwork just general cutting stuff. I got the clip Point version so if you are into shaving fat wood that clip point is perfect. I splurged and got two of them one clip one non-clip. What can I say they're addictive.

I’ve got an s35vn version and a 1095. They are a great do all knife. They have a great sheath too

Care to share which one you prefer? I was looking at the S35vn myself.

@@MNWoodland For my needs, s35vn by a long shot. I edc it, doing general tasks, plus bushcraft stuff with my kids on my property a few times a month. I wouldn’t say I’ve torture tested it, but I’ve batoned through some heavy stuff where I was really pounding it hard and no issues. So any perceived difference in toughness doesn’t seem to matter for me. It definitely holds an edge better than my 1095 and I don’t really care for the coating on the 1095 esee knives. It creates a lot of friction compared to smooth stonewashed metal. And makes the knives thicker “behind the edge”, at least until it wears off. Plus not good for food prep. And obviously I don’t have to worry much about rust with s35vn, although I haven’t had a problem with the 1095 rusting either.

​@@MNWoodlandthey didnt heat treated the s35vn properluly. had my edge chipped cutting down small branches. sucks tho. but the HC is a beast i tell u that

@@B4neey I don’t have experience with the laser strike, so I can’t give you a clear answer. Maybe someone who has both can chime in.
