This is without a doubt the very best survival knife video I have ever seen! Extremely thorough, detailed and informative! You definitely know what your talking about and what you are doing! You are a genuine outdoor survivalist! A couple months ago I purchased the Esee 5 and after watching this video I am so happy I did! I learned so much by your video that I will view it serval more times so that I can retain all the information you put into it! Keep up the good work!

Looks like a great knife. Can't think of too many people I would watch this long. If it were just about the knife, maybe i would have checked out. But your skills and the effortless way (at least it seems so)you go from task to task without talking them to death, and the multitude of skills you demonstrate, without even commenting on them, make this a video I will watch again, several times. Thanks for a great job and "personal sacrifices".(Cuts, scrapes, sprains etc.)

I instantly liked the video when I saw that the knife had actually been used. How refreshing to see someone talk about a knife he really used unlike so many others who got it for free, do a couple of feathersticks and than claim it to be the perfect knife. So bored of that shit. Subbed.

I absolutely *LOVE* the _”finish”_ on that blade. I’m very suspicious of gear reviews where the item looks as if it were *NEVER USED!*
@bluesGs Жыл бұрын
I'm with you on that, table tops have good info but opinions on like new knives miss stuff. I really thought i wouldn't like the esee 5 after a few min using it, it's bulky, heavy and so on. but i found out what it can do and that made me like it a lot :) the finish on the knife is actually impressively durable compared to other brand i've tried. It took a lot of use to remove some :)

Thank you very much. I've been thinking on getting the 4 HM and 6 HM but i don't use a fixed blade that often and when i do i take the fallkniven F1. The esee 5 is amazingly tough but too much of a tank for my needs most of the time.
@dicaeopolis85226 жыл бұрын
You have the F!, but if you didn't the Esee 3 is a great little knife too. I use it the most actually, but if I need a larger knife I like the 6. I really like the sheath that comes with the Esee and the clip. I have some more expensive knives, but the Esee does everything I need at a good price and easy to sharpen.

I just purchased this knife. After a couple of hours in the woods I did 3 things that upgraded it massively. 1. I used 1000 grit sandpaper to smooth the coating (NOT to the steal, that will happen after awhile on the saber anyway) 2. I drilled the fire bow divot out to the tang (much easier to use, recommend on another channel) 3. I reground the edge to about 24/25 degree angle. This was mostly due to this informative video. Thanks. This knife is not perfect out of the box, but with this brick of steal you have the room to get damn close. More than most I think this is a knife that gets better with use, these three things speed that along.

Best ESEE 5 review on KZbin for sure, and probably one of the best overall knife reviews on KZbin also! Very well done sir! I’d love to see more knife reviews like this. Just out of curiosity, what is your current favorite knife to take in the woods?
@bluesGs6 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much Dan. I've been using the fallkniven F1 for the past 2 years. It's an awesome do it all blade, yet light enough. most likely not as strong as the esee 5 but i dont need a tank to cut food and feathersticks on a day hike :)
@Lars15406 жыл бұрын
Cool! So do you baton with the F1? Just curious. I'd be too afraid to baton any knife other than the esee 5 really... lol that's just me though. But I know that many manufacturers specifically prohibit battening in their warranties though. I think Fallkniven might Ben one of them as well.
@bluesGs6 жыл бұрын
Could totally be :) I batton my F1 no worries. The edge is more fragile than the esee for sure. but you can still use it on wood without any problems. Well i do it to get to the dry wood in a 2 ''- 2 1/2 '' log without hesitations :) If my knife breaks... that would be my fault, but really i'd be surprised. I've been using it for a good while now. (on anything else harder than wood though you'll probably damage the edge)
